We're overjoyed to finally be able to share the recording from a night in The Bowl with the pioneering DJ, producer, and architect for much of today's house music; Ron Trent.

Known for sets that embody the essence of soul, his performance from last Summer was undoubtedly a highlight for many.

Die Wurzeln von MOODYZWEN liegen - unter anderem - bei der Stadt Essen und dem Ruhrpott. Der bietet nicht nur Stahl, Kohle und zurücknaturierte Fabrikbauten in einzigartigen Kulturstätten, sondern bot in den 90er Jahren auch zahlreiche, legendäre House-Veranstaltungen unter Marlboro.

Der Pott und House Musik haben ihn geprägt, zu dem Menschen geformt, der er heute ist: bescheiden, ehrlich und warmherzig.

Seit über 25 Jahren betiteln ihn die Großen der Szene als passionierten DJ, Plattensammler und Ratgeber, ob für Techniktipps, Platten- und Label Empfehlungen oder bei Hilfestellungen rund um das DJ Leben.
Er ist kein Missionar und möchte dieses Schild erst recht nicht umgehängt bekommen, es ist schlicht sein Leben und seine Leidenschaft.

Mit seiner Plattform THE TRIBUTE MIX SHOW stellt er ganz uneigennützig nicht nur sich selbst zur Schau, sondern gibt anderen talentierten jungen, wie aber auch etablierten DJs die Chance, ihre Mixe für ein breites, interessiertes Publikum zu veröffentlichen.

Alles im Sinne der Community und House-Musik und diese findet man dort zuhauf: wegweisende Labels und Producer der House-Musik.

Man könnte auch sagen, ein musikalischer Geschichtsunterricht.

I had intended to keep these recodings to myself, But thats just selfish and I cant do it. Heart on my sleeve now, But for me, DiY were always at their best on their second or third night in. this recording lives up to the spirit of this and is just incredible. 6 hours and still going strong. what more can yo ask for. Keep it real, Keep it DiY.

Was lucky enough to acquire a tape set of Larry Levan from the Paradise Garage back in 1985 from a woman close to the scene.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
