Sooo much love 4 this.....1 of THE best dance cd's ever! Have had this cd since it 1st came out all those yrs ago & still gets played on a regular basis....not 1 bad track on it. About the cd:
Moving into our 40's with episode 041 and getting way back into time. This cd came our in 1994 and I later picked it up in HMV when the Havin'it discs were all in the same for 2.99 each. There's some well known classics on here like 'Helicopter' but also a whole bunch of lesser known tracks which makes a refreshing change. All of which were likely smashing the clubs in Ibiza in the summer of 93 and 94, it must have been a pretty amazing time to be there.

About the CD:
005 of the 'Classic Mix CD' collection brings a much slower affair. From the superb 'Back To Mine' CD series. The first I purchased was actually Danny Tenaglia's disc, which I bought out of curiosity being a fan of his house DJ sets. That disc almost made it here, but it was the Groove Armada release which really got hammered on my old Sony stereo. No other disc reminds me of lazy summer sundays more than this. And it was really the first musical selection that steered me towards collecting and playing a mix of music all together. Going from A Tribe Called Quest, into Barry White's incredible "Playing Your Game Baby" then house and other genre's coming in.... really resonated with me and elevated the way I put music together. Both listening to and playing out. A truly seminal release.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
