About the CD:
My second ever house CD! I bought this one for my Christmas box through the Metro Centre in Newcastle if I remember correctly and it was the real catalyst for getting me into clubland and house music. Featuring artists that defied genres and  the underground/overground such as Leftfield, Living Joy, Wildchild and Inner City... this was music all of the UK was dancing too not just to cool kids. A pretty amazing time to be a young kid getting into music heavily... my biggest regret... not buying turntables!

012 - Fantazia presents 'The House Collection vol.3' - Disc 1 - Mixed by Jeremy Healy (1995)

After i did the retake of one of my favourite Kaos tapes from the Warehouse in Leeds.

I decided that this tape also needed redoing. In my opinion it is one of the best put together sets from when Soak first started and the music was more US house lead. There is some great, long forgotten classics on here. 

Again some of the mixes were a bit rough, where beats were clashing etc but the main issue was the sound quality. Anyone who knows this tape will know that the recorded master on the night was distorted and pretty much ruined it.

Like the Kaos retake, i have mixed it pretty much exactly the same, volumes, placements etc but a lot tighter than the original. 

I think the tape is mainly Sasha & Mike Pickering

Paul Van Dyk & Judge Jules - Essential Mix 6-16-2001 @ GateCrasher

This is one of my favourite tapes from the Kaos nights @ Leeds Warehouse back in 1991. Anyone who knows this mix will probably agree that the tunes were amazing, tune selection great but some of the mixing was a little sketchy...... :)

Well after finding all the tracks, searching for 27 years, i have finally done a full retake of the tape. I have kept it as close to the original as possible, copying nearly all of the mixes exactly, apart from a few where they went out of bar.

The quality obviously makes this more enjoyable as some of the recordings back then weren't the best. 

I think all the mixes were done by Steve Williams and Mike Pickering on the night, not sure about Sasha.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
