DJ and producer, Terry Farley heads back to the 'second summer of love' and celebrates some of the biggest Acid House tracks, 25 years on.

Along with Andrew Weatherall, the duo started the now notorious Boy's Own fanzine in 1986, which commented on the slang, the parties, the tunes and the humour of the acid house days, and which also lead to the creation of the label Junior Boys Own. This imprint specialised in dance music and put out records by Orbital and Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers, which celebrates 15 years this year.

Terry began making productions with Andy Weatherall, Hugo Nicholson and Pete Heller under the name Bocca Juniors. He later teamed up with Pete Heller and has gone on to re-mix many of the world's leading artists and singers: everyone from U2 to New Order; to the Happy Mondays and Primal Scream at the height of Balearica. He has also produced Kylie Minogue, The Farm and M People.

About the CD:
For the 20th episode of the Classic Mix CD Series we asked friend of the show and fellow north east lad Mr Ian Blevins to recommend his favourite all time classic disc. Being one of the most talented selectors and dj's you will likely ever hear... Ian came back to us with what is a truly exceptional 'Choice' and it stands out to him simply by being the most outrageously good CD he always remembered. We've played this 4 times already and see where he's coming from. It features tracks such as Mission Control's 'Outer Limits', the dark lyrics of Tony Cook's 'On The Floor', the outrageously fun Hugh Masekela's 'Don't Go Lose It Baby' and the famous 'The Whistle Song' by Frankie Knuckles.

You can catch Blev closing the summer season at his We Love, Space residency in Ibiza where he spins on the Premier Etage every weekend. As well as a selection of other gigs around the island. For our 23rd episode we once again asked a friend of the site for their favourite all time CD. Andy Buchan is editor of Dubai's leading music and events publication, the fortnightly Infusion magazine. He's written for Mix Mag, DJ mag and Q magazine so he know's a thing or two about music. He's also one of the Dubai's best DJ's. Running his award winning alternative night Loaded and the famous dubstep and bass night SYNF amongst others. Andy has warmed up for anyone and everyone from 2ManyDJ's, to Norman Jay, Beardyman to Chase and Status and held down residencies at pretty much every quality venue in Dubai.

He originally picked Francios K's Choice disc... but as we just had a Choice disc from our last guest (We Luv's Ian Blevins) he also recommended Francios K's superb Essential Mix (Disc One). Which is a storming journey of starting with house and quickly moving into funk, disco, soul and everything in between. With from James Brown, Level 42, Maurizio, George Benson, Chaka Khan, Kyoto Jazz Massive to name a few... it's easy to see why Francios K has formed such legendary status with many of the finest selectors out there. If you love this mix... you're amongst very good company. Salute!

This CD was the first of the 'United DJs of America' collections I ever bought and I always remember the haunting intro than opens up into the rolling Sanchez loop with quintessential S Man bass drop. This is what Roger Sanchez sounded like and every club he played at was on fire. This is the 3rd CD from him in our Classic Series... and he's there for a very simple reason, this sound made you dance more than any other.

With the opening track 'The Flame' by Fine Young Cannibals then Green Velvet's 'The Stalker', this CD sets the pace right from the start and keeps going. The second last track is an all time favourite... Roger S presents The Deep - 'Vibe'. A truly relentless mix CD showing Sanchez at his very best. So turn it up... and enjoy the mix.

Scott Bradford (Shindig/Lexicon Avenue) recommends 'Back to Basics - Cut the Crap - Disc 3 mixed by Ralph Lawson' (1996).

We've got a special recommendation to celebrate our 40th episode of the classic mix CD series from Scott Bradford, who of course is, known for being behind, one of the longest running and most influential club nights in the UK, Shindig in Newcastle. Which amazingly kicked off in 1992 and is now stronger than ever with sell out parties every month at their new home, Warehouse 34. Scott is also well known for his Lexicon Avenue productions and Forensic Records label and has generally been a legend bringing house music’s finest to everyone for over 20 years.

He’s recommended disc 3 from back to Basics ‘cut the crap’ CD, which  features mixes from Derrick Carter, Andrew Weatherall, and this mix from Ralph Lawson. Now Considering it came out in 1996 that’s a ridiculously good shout  So Thanks for sharing it with us Scott, it’s much appreciated and here’s hoping for another great 20 odd years for Shindig, yourself and all the gang . About the CD:
005 of the Classic Mix CD Series on Soundcloud. Another from 1996 which is probably lesser well known and even lesser played, but without doubt one of the most memorable CDs in my collection. It comes from the sublime MixMag Live series and features Roger Sanchez aka S-Man when he was at the height of his powers (or just approaching them) and the legendary DJ Pierre. I always remember tracks like "Fill Me" and "Time to Stop" from Sanchez and the euphoric "Freestyle Groove" by Full Swing... engulfing me in the US house sound. Seminal music which will never be forgotten.

To celebrate our 30th episode, we are very honoured to get a recommendation from a Dj that’s played a huge part in the house music scene for over 20 years and someone who’s had a massive influence on myself, house heads around the world, and the CD’s that we feature on this site

After a famous trip to ibiza in the late 80’s… Danny set up his legendary Shoom night in London, which kicked off the rave and acid house scene in the UK. He’s helped cement house music culture in Ibiza, being a key figure in it’s growth on the island. But many know Danny through his radio shows… where he started out at Kiss FM and went onto lead radio one's weekend roster alongside Pete Tong. His Love Groove Dance Party show was the soundtrack to many people's saturday nights and I speak on behalf of thousands, to say it was an pleasure and an education to tune in each and every weekend.

He's had countless mix cd's over the years, some of which we've already featured on the site. But today, he's recommended the Decade of Dance CD, mixed by himself and released on Circa records in 1999. As it represents his favourite tracks throughout the 90's and is full of the gorgeous vocals and feel good house music Danny is know for.

So thanks again for everything Mr. Rampling. We really can't thank you enough for giving us all the amazing music and memories over the years.
