To me, the Eagle deserves the sexiest rhythms in my library. That coupled with all the education I've been privileged to receive as a New Yorker, exposed to the hottest music in the world. Tracks from guiding mentors, some of whom I call friends and some I've never met, including those who are no longer with us but to whom I owe everything. This is a portion of my six-hour set that I think captures the essence of NYC nightlife over the years. I hope you enjoy it - thank you for listening 🖤

Here'z a magical set of my brother Junior Vasquez from club Spirit airing live on 103.5 FM WKTU, NYC. What can I say about Junior, I pattern myself to him. He's thee only DJ on this planet that took me there on his long musical journeys. I learned a lot from him when I would go see him play. He alwayz allowed me to hang out with him in the DJ booth. And everytime I did, I'd sit there very quietly with a nice cold beer in my hand & just soak in how he worked his crowd. I never seen or heard so many people screaming a DJ'z name like JUN-YAHHH as he drove them in a musical frenzy on his dancefloor.
So with that being said, let me quit talkin' & let you listen for yourself.

Here'z yet another mix by my all time favorite DJ who I can call friend, Junior Vasquez. There was NEVER a night Junior disappointed me on the dancefloor. Heck my daughter is also a HUGE fan of Junior. I really miss his eventz in South Beach Miami or anywhere else. If it was anywhere near Florida I was there. Junior is thee only DJ that can inspire me like he can... more than any other DJ has. I love his rawness, raw beatz, drama & more drama!! But a good drama ♥

I'm having a Junior Vasquez moment this week & maybe next week. I really miss hearing him live. He always allowed me to hang out with him in the DJ booth with him... & I would just sit down drinking my cold beers & soaking in the moment. It was like I was going to DJ Class & Professor Junior was teaching me how to work a crowd. I must say, I learned a lot from my brother.
I will forever be grateful for his kindness towards me. Junior is 1 true brother.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
