I remember seeing Steve live at Home in London YEARS ago. Probably one of the best nights out I've ever had. Dark, moody, tribal. Love it.

Definitely a contender for the best CD ever. I was lucky enough to hear Harlem shuffle at sankeys plus he played love at first sight too. Unbelievable scenes

About the CD:
So back in the day Deep Dish were one of those mythical dj partnerships we didnt get to see too much in the UK but were held up there with the likes of Danny Tenaglia and of course the UK god's that were Sasha and Digweed. Label bosses of the excellent Yoshitoshi records and regular faces on the legendary Global Ungerground cd's. Although this disc doesn't go down as an all time favourite for me it does define the late 90's and some great times clubbing which is certainly enough to get into the series.

About the CD:
This out of all my mix CD's will likely bring back the most clubbing memories for the majority of my friends. It's hands down one of the greatest mix CD's of all time, a double pack of Sasha at his absolute peak, he was untouchable, worshipped like no other and unrivalled around the 1996-2000 era in the majority of opinions. It defined a period of clubbing that had 50 Sunderland dance heads on a bus filling up half of the main room at Sasha's, Craig Richard's and Lee Burridge's 'Tyrant' night, at the Bomb in Nottingham. Which still holds strong as the best clubbing experience for most of us. It was legendary times, and this is a legendary mix CD.

I got this for a random gift from my girlfriend at the time, and I remember always being a pleasure getting anything with Lawler's name on it. Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

About Gareth:
Digital creative type, gamer, music lover and occasional DJ. Currently living between Dubai & Seoul after setting sail from Sunderland in 2010.
