Atmosphärische Klanglandschaften und Spielplatzgeräusche, die nach mehr als fünf Minuten Aufbau in einem treibenden Rhythmus aufgehen - so startet "MATTER", das aktuelle Album der Wiener Formation theclosing. Zum ersten Mal haben Daniela Palma Caetano Auer und Alexander Hengl dieses im Duo aufgenommen, die Gruppe existiert in anderen Besetzungen aber schon mehr als 15 Jahre.

Von ihren Wurzeln im experimentellen HipHop, dem sie auch als Veranstalter/innen in Wien immer wieder Türen geöffnet haben, hat sich theclosing über eine EP und drei Alben in Richtung Ambient, Post Rock und elektronische Beats weiterentwickelt. Neben der Musik spielen aber auch die Artworks, Visuals und Live-Performances eine wichtige Rolle bei Auer und Hengl, wie der Blick auf ihr bisheriges Schaffen und die künstlerischen Überlegungen dahinter deutlich macht.
