Ninitia (Denver | USA)

Nina (DJ alias иιиιт'α), who is self-taught, came of age in the male-dominated early 90's rave scene, has been heavily influenced by the deeper sounds of techno, poly-rhythmic electronic music and most things unconventional. Nina, who views the art of mixing as a spiritual practice that seeks to "balance relationship to mind and body, "prefers private parties to clubs/bars where the dancing is louder than the conversation. She seeks to "reinvent the club scene to promote listening and dancing through connection and somatic awareness rather than an unconscious escape."  Her sets lean in the direction of hypnotic, layered with long transitions, telling the story of the moment, often with a dark and moody undertone that reveals splashes of light and space to feel. A life-long dancer, Nina views music as a portal into a web that connects her to everything.

Synesthetic Process #4

For this episode we'd like to give a warm welcome to the Paris-based artist, Knay.
He started his project in 2018 with a first EP out on Natch Records. 
Sound exploration is the main focus while having a studio session. This exploration combines many different elements including nature sounds, analog gear recordings, transposed and time stretched samples that are used to create textures and rhythm.

With an extremely original approach and mesmerizing layer overlaping, he's easily able to take the traveler into inner dimensions and get lost there for a while, altering his/her state of consciousness, gradually guiding it into a deeper version of itself.

Whether it is as a Dj, label owner or his role as an event promoter, French born Souleiman Bacar aka lunar convoy has been making a name for himself on the Brussels scene since 2015.

By joining forces with Martin Respaut aka Foreign Material he was able to create NORITE, a prolific imprint that accounts for more than 30 releases to this date.

One shouldn’t be fooled by the meditative and ethereal output from his label, as lunar convoy’s influences reach way beyond the deep techno spectrum. His ability to merge hypnotism and groove has opened the path to the major Dj booths of the Belgian capital such as Fuse, C12, FFORMATT as well as clubs in Lille, Paris & Berlin.


His most recent project is called Metropolis a series of day time events that take place on Sunday. Along with his peers Sonhan and Altinbas he is free to experiment with different tempos and sound textures whilst honing his skills as a Dj set after set.

This event was particularly important, as it was linked to the article about '55 female artists involved in the hypnotic techno scene' and had for goals to raise awareness about gender-balance, diversity and inclusivity in the industry.

Vicky Zissou has been capturing hearts, minds and dancing feet with her richly organic, eclectic sound over recent years, flitting between atmospheric, dubby, acid and raw industrial vibrations in a way that oozes with class and ensures your attention never wavers.

Her dark-layered hypnotic techno sets come with electric intensity, a shimmer of light and ease, and a drop of emotion, the continuously shifting grooves locking you in in a continuous, trippy, hypnotic haze.
When she’s not gigging in Sweden and Berlin alongside the likes of Abdulla Rashim, Dorisburg, Evigt Mörker, Sebastian Mullaert and Fjäder, she’s working on her own tracks and collaborations, including the ‘Matilda’ project alongside Hampus Bogren – a genderless project challenging people’s preconceptions and mental images, with a sound marked by modular synthesizers, complex patches, atmospheric / experimental sounds, and driving rhythmic percussions.
