10th episode and we have Lateral on the series. A great artist we come to know a couple of years ago, at a very pleasant @machine-label night in Melbourne, Australia. 

Like his downright DJ sets and elegant productions, he gives us an episode of magnitude. Brought out in rich nature, we explore the power of strong elements, like the ambush of unpredictable weather and sudden shift of temperature, contradictions gives us textures, energy and satisfaction.

BIO:
If you're keen fan of Melbourne techno, there is a strong chance that you've heard the name 'Lateral' in the last couple of years. Lateral, the creation Melbourne-based DJ and Producer Matthew Drape, is the alternate alias for Matthew's darker and more experimental techno releases; with his previous, more melodic productions having been released under his first alias of 'Backroom Reality'. Matt has been playing everything across the BPM spectrum for the last 14 or so years, finally settling with the ever so broad techno genre.

There is not a whole lot to say when it comes down to him explaining the musical background behind his work or what his sources of inspiration are. Instead, he prefers to remain quite modest and relatively humble about his productions. Spending a significant portion of his downtime locked away in his studio ñ he sits there crafting dark, thunderous and high quality techno for the aural pleasure of his listeners and fans alike.

Lateral has a handful of remarkable releases under his belt so far, most of them residing on Melbourne-based record label 'Machine': the label he proudly calls his home. Lateral came on board as a Partner in Machine Label in 2016 and shares responsibility for sourcing and selecting music for the label with Andrew Till.

Our next guest comes our way from Leipzig, Germany. Originally a metalcore & hardcore background he has always enjoyed electronic and experimental music. Heavily influenced by this and the scene in Leipzig his focus is on impulsive rhythms, dissociative sounds and dark and eerie atmosphere. 

He is a founding member of PVC and is also co-organizing events in his area. For several years now he has been exploring the world of producing where he has released on several labels including @nebulakollektiv,@proselytizing ,and has appeared on numerous podcasts like @crescent-london, @furthersessions, @out-system ,and many more.

Ben Cyan is a London-based DJ. He's been a life long techno lover since the mid 90s and discovered electronic music through attending free parties and warehouse raves as a youth - before he was old enough to get into clubs even. It was sounds from this era & early parties that shaped his musical direction - influences from techno (detroit/uk/berlin), 90s psy trance, dub, acid, electro and jungle. He's been collecting vinyls on and off for 20 years. Over the last 5 years, Ben has taken a more singular approach and been focusing on deep and hypnotic techno which enabled him getting stuffs done and shaping his DJ identity. The result led him to his monthly podcast series - Kaibosh :  a physical, spiritual and psychedelic quality that takes you on a trip and helps you escape from everyday life.
