You can read a lot more about her philosophy and approach in the interview below, but you don't even need to know about it to hear this in her RA Podcast—a collection of swirling deep techno that rivals anything made by the usual cohort of "hypnotic" techno heads.

Looking at the tracklist doesn't really do it justice, but the names involved give you an idea of what to expect: Varuna, ASC, Donato Dozzy, The Orb, Sunju Hargun. This is techno that ripples rather than bludgeons, that moves with an ethereal grace, where tracks bleed into one another beautifully, with a few surprises, too. While you're here, you should check out her Magnetite EP for Bambounou's label Bambe, already one of the young year's most bewitching techno records. But if this is your introduction, then turn off the lights, light a candle or some palo santo, and sink into two hours of your new favorite techno DJ.

Cobahn (@cobahn) is a Korean DJ, and started her musical journey as part of Seoul’s deep spiritual techno scene. She currently resides in Amsterdam, where she continues to explore and expand her musical horizons. Her music is influenced by Oriental philosophies and awe-inspiring mother nature, and combines deep and experimental styles, which she blends into an authentic soundscape. She is focusing on all kind of deep music filled with organic, hypnotic and avant-garde touches.

It is, once again, our biggest pleasure to bring you podcast #160, this time from the wonderful talent, Alexskyspirit (Circular Limited, Edit Select, Aarden Records, Planet Rhythm et al). 

What makes this edition extra special is that it is formed entirely of the Greece born and raised artist’s own material - including some personal Alexyskyspirit favourites, as well as some stunning unreleased tracks.

For us, Alexskyspirit’s music is sheer beauty through and through - a delicate dance between darkness and light, melancholy and hope, paving the way for deep introspection, if you allow it. It’s the depth, mystery, emotion, and allure of his work that has continuously captured our attention time and time again, just as with this magnetic journey recorded for On the 5th Day. 

When listening, it’s may be no surprise to learn that Alexskyspirit’s inspiration is city traffic, night, winter, rainfall, and architecture - for us emanating a pensive mood that lends itself to the type of deep introspection we find ourselves in when immersed in Alexskyspirit’s creative outputs. 

This mix is no exception - a deep, emotive journey along dark city roads at night, rain falling, the light from vehicles of fellow drivers dancing with the rain in the darkness ahead, a mood of melancholy, but also deep connection and meaning filling you as you cruise forward - no longer attaching onto the goal of your journey, but instead losing yourself in the moment, in a dream-like state.

Shelley, self-taught DJ from Bielefeld, Germany, has been making a name for herself since 2019 when she decided that the years spent within the club culture could be translated into something fun. Here is the 368th chapter of the Deep Electronics serie.  Every two weeks the serie brings you a diversity into the abyss of deep electronic music. This week Aphelion takes over the deck with a stunning and hypnotic set. Powerfull yet deep. So enjoy!

Bio:
Aphelion grew up on Vancouver Island, and now resides in Brooklyn. They've been DJing for over 10 years and started out as a vinyl Drum and Bass DJ. Their travels through the Europe, and gigs in the North American scene have instilled a rooted passion for hypnotic grooves and dub techno. Previously they was a part of a duo (re_Click) who released on the Vancouver Imprint Subspec. They have played alongside Dorian Gray, Craft, A.M.D., 0.001, Jay Zoney and Josh Garrett to name a few.

About the set:
The set was inspired by my last time playing at Bossa Nova Civic club in Brooklyn for Cipher before it burned down. The vibe and dance floor were on point that evening. Many of the tracks in the mix I played there that night.

CODECAST #005 - Manuel Pardi - Wet Inmersion

After a short break, we are returning with a new episode of the Harmony Rec. podcast series. Today, we have the honour to finally introduce an artist who has been on our radar for a while. 

Konduku aka Ruben Üvez is a Berlin-based DJ and producer, originally from the Netherlands. Starting his career by releasing a well-received debut LP - "Kiran," Konduku quickly got recognition among the listeners. Since then, Ruben has been a part of several impressive music projects. His work has been released on record labels such as Delsin, IDO and Idle Hands, proving Konduku as a natural talent. Producing is not the only thing that keeps Ruben busy.  His DJ CV includes a variety of prominent European clubs beginning with De School and ending with Berlin's about blank. 

The set itself describes Konduku in detail. Excellent mixing skills accompany the unique music style that we would describe as groovy and organic. The transition from summer to autumn is often uneven. Still, we believe that Konduku's set will make it softer for you. Enjoy.
