Our podcast series continues, this month’s story is told by John Plaza. 

John is a Dj and producer from Chile. Releasing on labels like BAHN, NFEREE, Further Sessions, or Hipnotismo Sonoro Ltd, a sub-label of the well-known Utch Records, he is establishing himself in the scene as one of the main figures of deep techno. His music is built around deep and hypnotic sound, using samples from nature and minimalist percussion. Today’s session is a display of hypnotic tones recorded in the mountains of Santiago.

TRÊVE Serie 49 with Kontinum (IFZ, Aequalis, Nebula, TGP)
Jonas, who grew up in the far north of Germany, moved to Leipzig after 20 years of wind and rain. There he was quickly inspired by the prevailing sounds of the Institut fuer Zukunft and finally started the Kontinum project in 2016 with a focus on atmospheric and dissociative Techno. Over the years, the palette of sounds grew and now ranges from ambient to deep techno to contemporary club-oriented techno. In 2017, he founded the Nebula collective (@nebulakollektiv) with a couple of friends and started hosting the first illegal events. In the course of time, Nebula has also found its way into the Leipzig club scene and is now an integral part of it.
Since 2022, he has had the privilege of being a resident at Institut fuer Zukunft and co-host of the infamous Aequalis events. Over the years, Jonas has continued to develop and perfect his own sound and has had the chance to release on labels such as The Gods Planet (thegodsplanet), Lowless (@lowless-music) and Oslated (@oslated).

Third installment for “Circulating Waves” is coming from Milan-based ELA.
She originated in Argentina and used to work in a club in Córdoba in 2011 where she discovered her love for electronic music. When she returned to her hometown of Buenos Aires a few years later, she got the chance to become more deeply involved with her beloved Techno through „Arjaus“ Electronic Music School, where she gained technical insights and producing skills.

Usually focusing on slower Techno and Ambient soundscapes, ELA leaves her footsteps at well-known institutions of the scene, including Crescent, Deep Electronics, Anodynic Frequencies or Ruina.
This time, she recorded a slightly faster mix for us, worshipping the inescapable vortex while oscillating between dreamy, organic fields, coloured by subtle rhythms and heavier, bass driven episodes with a psychedelic twist. 
ELA will skillfully take you on an eclectic trip through the different stages of charybdical hypnotism. 
Come, join her journey with faith and you will be rewarded with a unique listening experience!
