THE CODE RELEASES

In the nineties a move to the UK came as a consequence of his studies and with him a pulsating eagerness which helped Lateral Movement to dive right into the local music culture, effervescent as ever. There he meandered effortlessly through genres, taking him deeper into the arts whilst aiding his curiosity, from free jazz to indietronica. Returning to his homeland, Portugal, subtracted him from this rich diversity and forced him to become a strong supporter of the alternative scenes, where he looked to push people and projects that shared his values and vision. There and then he decided to embark on a different kind of journey and took upon himself the responsibility of discovering new music and to share it with the community. To this day techno and its many guises are his passion, especially the deeper and hypnotic realms, where ambience and atmosphere play the main role.

Concept:
Once every Moonrise, a spring of light comes down to Earth. 
The Sun was gone, and the Moon was coming, echoes from the gloom. 
It seems as if everything is renewed again. 
Was it the Spring Equinox making everything bloom with its promise of the Earth blossoming? 
Or is it merely a virtual simulation casting a shadow upon my conscience as if a Solar Eclipse took place?

The Artist Sunday Bath is an producer and musician with a dedicated approach to a suspended path between excavation, improvisation and spatialization. His music is a dialogue between the selection, manipulation and rearrangement of audio material and improvisation through synthesis with synthesizers.

Through the careful study of the sound design and the stereophonic perception of the sounds that Giacomo presents us with, the listener can access a dreamlike and immersive dimension; the exploration of imaginary places dotted with artifacts that seem fleeting and chimerical where the artist seeks to center us with his music.

Every summer, a group of friends get together to enjoy music and party in an old castle converted into a hotel, lost in Valladolid, Spain... In this 2023 edition, one of the rooms was set up to hold a horizontal music session, one single day at dawn. Due to the dimensions of the space very few people were able to enjoy these DJ sets, now they're published here for everyone to enjoy.

Pipiltzintzintli EP is designed as a concept-opus around the notion of psychedelia in electronic music. It is conceived exclusively using sounds from hardware synthesizers and modular systems.

 The repetitive motifs are chosen here for their organic and cerebral aspect; they act physically on the listener, the intention being to seek out sounds that act like active principles, like psychotrops. The idea is also to maintain a rather minimalist approach, with reduced use of percussive and/or melodic elements. Multilayering is used here to access a deeper sonic dimension, to tap into the inner self, a mental image like an imaginary, unconscious landscape. 

There's also an acidic dimension to the album, with references to a whole section of the history of repetitive electronic music: Warp's pre-2000s period with LFO and the distinctive sound of early Plastikman are particularly present here. The opus is rounded off by the unique touch of producer friends Gëinst, Inerit and Accou, who all revisit a track of their choice in their own way.
