There is a magnetic energy, a sort of attraction between them that allows balance to exist.

We usually tend to see Nature and Machinery as opposites. But are they really?
There's undoubtedly a strong correlation between the evolution of one and the other and we can usually see machines & technology as another layer in Nature's realms.

Art & creations made through machines usually allow us to innerly explore diverse aspects of nature and understand them from another perspective. Many times music created using machines takes us to natural landscapes and helps us find inner connection with nature itself.
Wether they are opposites or not, we are strong believers that there is a potential balance within the coexistance of Nature and Machinery.

To relaunch his seminal imprint, Infrastructure New York, Function presents his new 12", Green EP. Celebrating 27 years of Function releases this year and the label’s 25th anniversary, the label will serve as an outlet for his new material, reissues of out of print classics from Synewave, Sandwell District and Ostgut Ton (and of course, Infrastructure), as well as developing new artists and launching a long awaited Bandcamp page - exploring the annals of nearly 30 years of the Function sound. No doubt fans will be excited.
As a member of the Sandwell District collective, David Sumner aka Function, from 2007 onward was instrumental in cultivating and ushering in a new sound of dark, cerebral hypnotica - forcing the hand of change in global techno. Green EP serves as a testament to this, further exploring these depths. The EP pays homage to the day when David arrived in Berlin with his green suitcase where his record “Isolation” on Sandwell District was released, hitting the ground running and springboarding into an incredibly successful career, becoming a stalwart DJ/producer, after years as a struggling artist.

Green EP encapsulates the same raw power and hypnotic energy of his genre defining Sandwell District releases Isolation, Anticipation and Variance, updated with a modern flair. Subject f (Function) has clearly transcended, as expressed through the opening track “Initiation” arriving at his “New Designation”. On the b-side Function communicates his divine alignment through the broken beat, etheric “Aeternum (Meridian)”. Finally, Function closes Green EP with a live extraction of “Desire and Memory”, a brooding club stormer in contrast to the more experimental leanings of the original version, which appeared on Rrose’s label Eaux. One thing is clear: Function is back on track and more on form than ever!

With Dwellers, language and symbolism run deep as CAIV, a new collaboration from Israel Vines and Camille Altay, challenges listeners to embrace the ambiguity of existence, and accept incongruity as a vital part of the whole.

CAIV was borne of the partnership initiated on Israel Vines' 2021 track, Keeping, and Dwellers delves into the realms of sound, semiotics, and half-obscured meanings, starting with the word-association from the pair's chosen moniker that led to the EP's title.

As Vines explains, "CAIV is obviously our initials combined, and we both liked the "cave" references that it brought to mind - digging, exploring, existing pre-modernity and continuing underground through the ages."

Across the four tracks CAIV use both language and rhythm to create a dense strata of significance and buried meaning - titles like G&ouml;belki Tepe and &Ouml;tzi 2.0 reference prehistoric relics whose full history is unlikely to ever be unearthed, while Cymbalism and Shamanfreude exhibit a joy in word play that hints at the very old and modern at the same time.

Altay explains this further, "This convergence of pre-civilized ironies, opposites, conundrums, conjectures, this is what I love about these great human discoveries. There is no definitive answer - someone hazards a guess that is grasping for meaning. We can only feel our way towards the truth of it, based on the signs and symbols we know and have associations with."

Fittingly, the music itself is deep and reverberant - combining primaeval rhythms with modern sound production and unexpected instrumentation. The opening track, Cymbalism, is built around samples of Altay interacting with Polish artist Alicia Kwade's TunnelTeller - a sculpture they describe as "resonant metal tubes and concrete, resembling an instrument waiting to be played"; again this neophile urge to do things differently leads them paradoxically to techniques that might have been second nature to humans thousands of years ago.

Altay can't fully put a name to this drive: "I feel like in the music we write, Israel and I are grasping toward a language that we both share and grew up speaking, but can't actually write down. It's referential, and specific, but hard to describe&hellip;we live on opposite sides of the country, so the music we send back and forth feels a lot like we're signalling to each other by lighting fires on a mountain. It's a way to communicate deeply over a great expanse with a nonlinear gesture." It is this instinct to transmit experience in novel ways which drives the CAIV project.

We've followed the journeys of many artists, and seeing them evolve and explore new avenues of expression is truly inspiring. One such artist is Ina Kacz, a Berlin/Tbilisi-based producer and DJ. We're thrilled to introduce you to her new imprint, Aneelhi Rec, and its inaugural release: her five-track EP, "Endless."
"Endless" showcases Kacz's versatility. She dips into halftime on "Days Off" and flirts with trance on "Similitude." But the EP primarily resides in energetic, rolling, off-kilter techno. 
Our premiere for today, "New Grounds," perfectly embodies the energy Kacz crafts on the record. "New Grounds" is a powerhouse track, brimming with intricate details that flit between two intertwining sequences. Subtle tweaks and masterful percussion work build an irresistible groove that feels both cosmic and grounded. Perhaps the title - "New Grounds," serves as an analogy for the label itself – a fresh platform for Kacz and the talented artists in her circle.

"New Grounds" and the "Endless" EP mark a new chapter for Ina Kacz's music and the dawn of Aneelhi Records, out on May 16.

Originally coming from a small town near Munich, Verhall got first introduced to techno in clubs like Blitz and Rote Sonne.
Meanwhile he is based in Vienna where he contributes to the local scene as a DJ but also as founder of Qualia Series, always pursuing the goal of sharing his distinctive musical vision and creating a unique connection with the crowd and the location. He also shares his taste through his own imprint RAUM Records, that he co-founded with his friend GEISTFREI. Musically you can expect a hypnotic, driving and loopy selection that will glue you to the dancefloor for hours on end.

A small light with an enchanting green glow was moving in unusual patterns as if it was suggesting to be followed.

Instinctively, he started walking towards it. It led him through paths, trees and places he never visited before. After a while, they arrived at a garden. This place was unlike no other.

A big-eyed plant jumped from the pond and focused his gaze upon him. It seemed like all the plants were alive and were disturbed by his presence.

He walked around, closely observing everything. Strange flowers, bizarre insects and odd animals filled his vision. "What kind of place is this? Is it real or a figment of my imagination?" he asked himself.
