This week, our resident dynamic duo Pookie Knights invite you on board their MagLev express train to Bangers County, Soundsville. They’ll be clipping the tickets and speeding down the tracks for the first hour with a set that will rip the underwear right off you, only put it back again inside out and the wrong way round. 

For hour two, we welcome on board a special guest who we’ve been super keen to get on the show for some time - Mango Sounds and Ripe Pear label boss, Dmitiry Tsarik aka Crack D! 

Hailing from Moscow, Russia - Dmitiry is one of THE movers and shakers on the scene right now. We’re huge, huge fans of Mango Sounds and Ripe Pear releases and Dmitiry can do no wrong in our eyes. We can’t contain our delight at having him on the show for his BLD debut and we know this is going to be an incredible aural experience for you!

They have 2 releases on Nervous Records & another collaborative release forthcoming on King Street Sounds. This set is unbelievably good - it's a real journey so strap yourselves in!

BLD April 5th 2021 with Pookie Knights and Groove Parliament

Our radio show kicked off a feature called 'Label Focus'. During this feature we showcase 3 records from a label that we absolutely love! Its often so very difficult to limit the track selection to 3, as most of these labels have an incredible catalogue of music!

Enter the label focus mix series! Moving forward we will be picking incredible labels, rummaging through their catalogue and blending the finest that they have to offer. We will then deliver it straight to your ears.

For our first ever edition we have chosen a phenomenal label based in Brooklyn, USA. Razor-N-Tape was fromed by JKriv & Aaron Dae and over the past few years has released music from heavyweights in the house & disco industry. What we particularly love about them is their diversity through sound where you will find everything from edits to peak time house pumpers!

For this 90 minute mix, we have leaned towards the white label disco & edits side of their collection. It includes 18 tracks that we have been playing over recent years and varies from readily available mp3 jams to the rarer wax only and limited time download records.

Starting in the low BPM's with some boogie and soul filled joints, this mix picks up traction to finish with some peak hour euphoric highs!

Enjoy some of the best from Razor-N-Tape and no doubt we will be back to revisit some of the other side of their catalogue soon!

The mixtapes just keep on coming and it only seemed fair to  bring in another one of our Disco Day Party #03 acts - Pookie Knights! 

Hailing from Wales, Pookie Knights are a Disco-House duo who are all about uplifting, groovin' vibes and halcyon rhythms. What started 5 years ago as an obsession for crate digging for 80s vinyl gems and blending them into modern floor fillers, has now seen us enjoy several releases on various labels across Europe. Labels such as; Fresh Take, Sundries, Spincat Music, SeeSaw and many more.

On top of all that, they are also a part of Black Light Disco family, where they host a radio show on New York City airwaves every Monday on the prestigious MyHouseRadio.FM.

The boys mix is an hour of groovy disco with a sprinkling of acid and gives an insight into what they'll be packing in their arsenal for the 14th August!
