We venture back into the void for COMPLEXA Volume 11, searching once more for the gathering of energies in the dark. We are gaining on her and it is good. Others have also. Many, many others.

The incredible density of the combined beings within has forced gravity’s hand, we are engulfed within as we pass the threshold, experiencing the most sublime time dilation. The combined effect felt from our unique traveller perspective is equivalent to approximately 40 years… in just under 4.5 hrs…

@perseus-traxx delivers an outstanding edition for the COMPLEXA series. Taking on early 80’s influences and seamlessly guiding and morphing the music into an undeniable and exhilarating House and Techno ride. His stamp on the selections and creativity in the mix are exactly what those who have come to know him by over the years love and respect.

"I’m still making music with bits of hardware, releasing under aliases and also a recent limited 10” lathe cut run comprising of an early 90’s Techno feel, along with various tracks that were mastered by Labels but never got released."

COMPLEXA Mix Series: Volume 11 | Perseus Traxx

Next up in the series, York based party starter, @indigo30303 boss man SYD takes the reigns, delivering a beautifully crafted hour and 20 minutes of house, techno and of course those 303 sounds for our audio delight.

Millions of light years away, two separate, unidentified forms travel the cosmos, both in quest of rapture, although it’s concept not yet known. Little did they know that their quests would not only find their desire, but create it’s very existence. 

In a spectacle of illustrious colour, sound and light that can be seen and heard by neighbouring planets, the two forms collide, leaving a brand new form in their wake.

When the space debris clears, the rapture left behind becomes apparent. Those who have traveled to this new form know it as only one thing. The COMPLEXA.

Volume 3 of the series comes from immensely talented Leeds based selector and joint Turbo Events head honcho Ollie Slaney, who has produced an absolute masterclass in breaky, zippy, percussion heavy techno for our listening pleasure.

These frequencies leave you soaring. Soaring skyward in a state of pure, unadulterated euphoria. Reclining amongst the stars, the comets and travelling deeper, deeper into the abyss. It's charming up here. Care to join?

COMPLEXA Mix Series: Volume 3 | Ollie Slaney

Volume 4 of the Complexa series is courtesy of Roya Brehl. Roya is well known over in Leeds for The Off Licence  parties which had great outings at Blueberry Hill Studios, Eiger studios and were lined up for a special set  with legend Bill  Brewster at 212. She has joined our own Upside Your Mind down in Yorks' Sotano basement numerous times and also runs the Imaginarium in Leeds plus the Hideous Things and Shso projects. 
This edition is a shifting and evolving ride into one of the Complexa's deeper energies, here we find ourselves holding on as Roya expertly guides us down to feel its embrace.

Next up in the mix series, Leeds based connoisseur of all things rhythmic, 3am Recordings boss Al Bradley steps into the Complexa, delivering us a spellbinding selection of melodic, spacey house frequencies for our audio delight.

Next up in the mix series, Newcastle based Shi Bui head honcho @bencaldwell-dj takes the reins, alluring us on an elevated ride through the realms of the Complexa and way way beyond.

As well as his DJing ability, Ben's production skills are equally as captivating. With releases on Me Me Me under his belt, one of our favourite labels, his inclusion in the mix series was a no brainer.

Next to step into the Complexa is Haus Social bossman Alex Alterskye, formally of Freche Fruchte Recordings, delivering us a mesmerising selection of beautifully crafted house and techno frequencies, leaving us chugging steeply in pursuit of the stars, the comets, and grooving further into the abyss.

Alex along with Haus Social became a regular fixture under the cobbled streets of Little Stonegate in the Sotano basement before the initial lockdown back in March and it's clear to see why. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride🌌

Next to step into the COMPLEXA is Manchester based aficionado of audio, and co-founder of the FSP mix series, finno. 

These breaky, spacey pulsations leave you elevating. Ascending sky high in pursuit of the stars. The sonic boom sounds like a distant memory as we travel further and deeper into the oblivion. Percussion, melody and the bliss of complete abandon encaptures our bodies, our minds and our souls. This must be what the COMPLEXA feels like... 

Throw this on and prepare to be drifted away from the comfort of your living room and thrust onto the golden dance floor of Utopia.

COMPLEXA Mix Series: Volume 9 | finno

Next to make their way into The COMPLEXA is the extremely talented JR Hartley. James is an Ibiza based electronic music artist, broadcaster and record label owner. He cut his teeth in the north of England writing music and DJing for fun, then in the early 00s he and a friend decided to form a music act and have been releasing music and DJing around the world since.

As we commence this electronic interstellar journey across the zippy planes of the Milky Way, a landmark comes into view. We're getting faster now, fleeting towards her at the speed of light. Her gravitational pull brings us closer, spinning at breakneck speeds. Singularity. Darkness. Upon opening our eyes we're enraptured. This place is different. "We've entered The Complexa".

Now based in Ibiza James has created his JR Hartley solo alias to explore all facets of his musical tastes ands become more involved with the local music community. You can hear him with his regular show Time & Space on Openlab FM, on The JR Hartley Podcast available on Acast as well as live sets in some of Ibiza's smaller, more underground venues such as Malanga and Las Dalias, playing to his friends, the locals and the more curious visitors.        

In this mix for The Complexa JR has delved into lots of different styles, genres and bpms, the only boundaries being all the music has a distinctly electronic flavour.
