No idea where this song came from! Although to be fair have been listening to a great song on SC from a  fellow musician which covered the loss of a long time friend.  But  this song was always about growing old, just that the first verse became a chorus and vice versa. Which meant the later verses just appeared from nowhere. Hope you are not put off by the lyrical content. Certainly not my style but I have been saying that I was in a bit of a rut with lyrics - in a way?

Over a year ago Sarah and I planned to make a version of Carol of the Bells. The original idea for the That Was Then album was to open on a track with the same riff as the closer but at half time.... this is broadly what that song was going to be, apart from the lyrics - so it's a bit of a curio without a home, now that I went with a different opening song. The 'sister song' is This Is Now.

A Teflon Aura. Water off a ducks back. In this song we imagine both positivity and negativity as something educated human beings can control. A semi permeable membrane that we control the flow of information through.

The flavour is a wish for people, including ourselves to be able to control ourselves, our feelings and the feelings we choose to project and reflect to and from other people and animals. We really do control that energy transfer and believe the planet will be better served when we are collectively an observational race of beings that have control of ourselves and leave the door always open for other people to learn from us and for us to learn from them in a positive light.
