From 8000 Miles’ 2nd album Crystal Confetti comes another tune that gets a bit philosophical. How often does your first response to a situation cause you to feel that your opinion is being challenged? Yeah, it can be often. Everyone has their own take on things and that can cause uncomfortable feelings between people. So, consider in those times, when it might be appropriate to not claim that you are “right”. Let it go. Compromise. Choose peace. After all, being right is usually just an opinion. Yes? Think: I don’t have to be right.

As you may notice, the cover art harkens back to a familiar cover from 1973 and that is intentional, because Andrea and Rebecca are strongly influenced by music from that time period. Many fans of 8000 Miles’ first album, Aggregate, have remarked on that influence. The title Crystal Confetti represents the clarity 8000 Miles is honing in their duo’s style and the contrast of weighted moods and flying inspirations.

Apparently I think too complicated in my songs. To better understand my thoughts and words, I would like to go into the story behind them.

I will never forget the look on a friend's face after we kidnapped him from the hospital many weeks after his serious traffic accident to drive a little through the night. The happiness of still being alive and regaining freedom. At the end of that ride we brought him save back to the hospital. 

This song is a fictional story about a couple in a many year relationship where the beloved wife is in the hospital with a terrible illness.
If it were based on a real story, I don't think I could sing about it in the same way.

The idea of being incurable in a hospital, monitored only by machines. The only distraction seems to be the television in the room. But everything reported there seems meaningless and unimportant in such a situation.

in my mind about this I would wish to spend some more time together alone and escape from this situation.
And how precious every second becomes that you can still spend together.
One probably wishes that this time should last for eternity.

With this background the song seems a little different than planned despite the happy melody.
