The mixtapes just keep on coming and it only seemed fair to  bring in another one of our Disco Day Party #03 acts - Pookie Knights! 

Hailing from Wales, Pookie Knights are a Disco-House duo who are all about uplifting, groovin' vibes and halcyon rhythms. What started 5 years ago as an obsession for crate digging for 80s vinyl gems and blending them into modern floor fillers, has now seen us enjoy several releases on various labels across Europe. Labels such as; Fresh Take, Sundries, Spincat Music, SeeSaw and many more.

On top of all that, they are also a part of Black Light Disco family, where they host a radio show on New York City airwaves every Monday on the prestigious MyHouseRadio.FM.

The boys mix is an hour of groovy disco with a sprinkling of acid and gives an insight into what they'll be packing in their arsenal for the 14th August!

As you might imagine, each of the four tracks seemingly has PARTY stamped across it in giant capital lettering, from the opening stomper 'Hot Damn!' with its bright-as-a-button brass section and the wah wah guitar of 'Dance To The Music' to the proto-house of 'The Spirit'. But the best is saved to last - the bendy funk bassline gymnastics of 'Feel Good', quite irresistible.

Spanish producer @javi-frias has been flying recently with releases on Tropical Disco, Bomb Strikes, Midnight Riot and a long list of brilliant disco edged labels. 

His latest EP is a fully vinyl affair on his own @nightshiftrcds and he has put together four tracks with some serious disco and soulful heat for the EP.

Javi Frias is a well respected DJ and producer from the disco and house scene. He began collecting and playing records as a young ‘soul boy' at the end of the nineties in Madrid, his hometown, and since then he has not stopped traveling to share his music through many venues, clubs and festivals worldwide. New York, Cairo, London, Mexico City, Paris, Barcelona, Washington DC, Amsterdam or Berlin are some of the places where he has had the opportunity to carry out his incendiary, eclectic and danceable sets full of disco, boogie, afro, funk, house and soulful sounds.

In the past few years he has begun to make noise at international level thanks to his edits and reworks, published a handful of EPs and singles on influential labels like Street Edits, Tropical Disco Records, Giant Cuts, Midnight Riot, Boogie Café or Bons Records. His music is played and charted regularly by top DJs such Danny Krivit, Detroit Swindle, Red Greg, Horse Meat Disco, Jacques Renault, Rahaan, Marcel Vogel, Folamour, Get Down Edits, Frank Booker...

In 2017 he started his own label Night Shift Records, devoted to edits and reworks of disco and house, where he has released in vinyl and digital his own productions and occasionally the work of other fellow producers. He's also part of the mysterious Disco Pocho label, focused on the soul and funk side of the disco edit, where he has already released a couple of 7”.

He is currently resident DJ and booker of Discotizer, the best disco, boogie and house party in Spain, where he has invited and shared the decks with artists like Louie Vega, Joey Negro, Danny Kirivit, Eli Soul Clap, Detroit Swindle, Rahaan, Red Greg, HMD, Eli Escobar, Dan Shake, Medlar, Jacques Renault, Get Down Edits, Marcel Vogel, Ron Basejam, Art Of Tones, Luxxury, Alkalino, Eddie C, Faze Action, Dicky Trisco, The Revenge, Mr. Mendel, Alexander Nut, Ray Mang, Kon, Luke Solomon, Melvo Baptiste, Dr. Packer...
