A highly anticipated tradition at Viper, the Annual Compilation is a celebration of the past year, featuring 26 tracks from a mix of familiar faces sprinkled with some of the scene’s hottest up-and-comers. Hand picked by label head honcho Futurebound himself, this year’s Annual 2023 features some of the year’s biggest hits from Jack Mirror, Blaine Stranger, V O E, Solomon France, Dossa & Locuzzed, Madface, BMotion, and more, sitting alongside records from Exile, DEAD WAX, CaitC, Houndeye, Deep Notion, and other ones to watch. Covering the full spectrum of Drum & Bass, Annual 2023 is the perfect celebration of another incredible year for Viper Recordings. 

Before unleashing the full album, the Annual 2023 Sampler offers a perfect taste of what’s in store, featuring three brand new exclusives from some of the scene’s best and brightest. 

First up, Madface teams up with Lottie Woodward, both familiar names to the label, with the explosive dancefloor track “High Above”. One of Viper’s latest signings, Madface has certainly been making waves the past year, so Annual 2023 wouldn’t have been complete without at least one new track from the Czech producer. Teaming up with the ethereal songstress Lottie Woodward, this powerful ballad features infectious vocals alongside vibrant danecfloor drops for the ultimate feel-good party anthem. 

Next up to bat is a new name to Viper with Deep Notion’s “Don’t Worry Bout Them”. An alluring cinematic intro paints an enchanting picture before introducing more tech-y influences leading up to a mind blowing drop. The juxtaposition of such a gentle opening against such a bass forward drop encapsulates the Viper sound perfectly, and we’ll be sure to keep an eye on Deep Notion. 

Last but certainly not least, CaitC joins the label with her debut single “Feel” featuring Christina Harrison on vocals. One of the hottest DJs to emerge in recent years, CaitC’s production is certainly on par with her stage presence, and combined with the mesmerizing vocals of Christina Harrison, “Feel” is a track you won’t soon forget. The ultimate liquid dancefloor record, hearing such immense productions from the new generation of producers is not only a testament to the influence Viper has held over the scene over the past 15+ years, but also to the strength and innovation of the scene as a whole. 

With three powerful new records to start, there’s no denying that big things are in store with Annual 2023 – the perfect end to arguably one of the label’s strongest year yet. Packed full of new and exciting talent together with legends like Futurebound himself, you will only find these sounds on the mighty Viper Recordings.

Our 3rd release is with Manchester’s Dj Zent. With releases on, Four Corners Music, Co-lab Recordings, 1 More Tune, Soundbully Audio and his own label DreambassUK Records, Zent has amassed quite the back catalogue. He’s done collabs with; Harley D, Jayline, Mc Fearless, Natty D, Papa Gee & MC Frost to name a few. His production style is acute and precise, surprising and rolling and uniquely versatile. His preferred style is Tech, be it Jungle Tech, gritty filthy rolling Tech, Liquid or Experimental. For this release, he has taken it to the Dancefloor! We have worked with Zent for a few years now and he has supplied some great bootlegs and guest mixes and we are very excited to have him on our label.

01. Dj Zent 'Let's Dance' - Well what can we say? ‘Let’s Dance’ is a weighty business indeed!  Crunchy drums kick us off with a synth soundscape leading us into a pre-drop build-up, plucky lo-fi melodies and effective vocals lead us to the drop. A hard silky bass call and 808 sub groove ignite us into drop one. Soft hats and snappy catchy drums continue in drop two for more bass groove changes and then… Drop 3 hits different with a brand new filthy bass call. More drum variations, foley vocals and SFX. Definitely one for the “Bangers” folder. 

02. Dj Zent 'Run Da Riddum' - Light airy pads, foley swirls and mid plucks set us into the pre-drop. Grime-inspired vocals and a smooth buildup of claps, drums and transitional effects get us ready. Drop one is a mixture of saucy dance-floor basses all grooving together alongside Zent’s signature snappy crunchy drums. 'Run Da Riddum' keeps evolving throughout the track and drops two and three give you more unique surprises.
