This week we welcome Vektral, Manchester-based producer and DJ founding his love for dnb many years ago, he has been releasing music as Vektral for over 3 years, evident in the depth of his productions. 

Heavily Influenced by dancefloor culture and jump-up vibes but he has a wide range of influences outside of the scene including ambient music, film soundtracks, and even taking inspiration from house & techno. 

Having released his debut Hypnotic Bootleg as a FDL with us a few weeks back this Mix explores his sound and showcases his talent.

Manchester based Vektral was introduced to drum and bass during his time at university after attending events at the city’s world famous Warehouse Project. Following this he quickly became immersed in the genre, travelling up and down the country to experience nights at venues such as Motion, Fabric and Building Six. Vektral was inspired to begin his journey in music production around 2016, with his first release shortly after this.

Three years later, he began releasing music under the Vektral name and began to play shows in and around Manchester. His sound involves a variety of different influences from within and outside of the genre, taking inspiration from ambient music and film soundtracks along with genres such as house and techno. Fast forward to 2023 and he has had singles, EP’s, and a host of successful free download releases on labels such as High Tea, DNB Lab, Yosh, Grand Theft Audio and Dazed, alongside gigs with prominent artists such as Subsonic, Joe Ford, Levela, and Gray. He has also had tracks featured by major brands such as UKF and Data Transmission. With numerous releases already lined up for 2025, expect plenty more to come from Vektral.
