This year I took on The Junkyard stage at Lightening in a Bottle for a beautiful set that was filled with dancefloor fire. I saw the crowd grow and grow as each track went on. The floor was packed by the end of my set and a roar occurred when it was time for me to get off. What a feeling rocking a dancefloor at an EPIC festival. Here is my set from that night. I hope you enjoy it.

3 QUESTIONS to SOLVANE:

Q: Talking about your mix: how did you meet the bass with your selection? 

A: I was playing in bands my whole youth and was not at all into electronic music in my teenager years. In my early twenties I started with Daft Punk and slipped pretty fast into Electro, as this was way closer to where I was coming from: Rock and Punk-Rock. I decided to make a very honest podcast. Not with Ableton Live but recording it like I did it 10 years ago. I was checking my dusty vinyl collection and my old MP3s and made the DJ-mix without a setlist. Recorded it with a first take and didn't do any reworks. I've selected a lot of big classics from my past but played them in a way more comfortable bpm than 10 years ago. It felt good to me and I hope you guys like it just like I do. 

Q: You´ve been to Japan for a tour a few days ago. Tell us about! 

A: What a crazy country. It's even way more crazy than I expected. I've already played in a lot of Asian countries like Malaysia or Thailand but Japan was completely new to me. I've had the honour to play in 5 different cities 5 nights in a row and it was very intense. Very few sleep but lots of traveling and alcohol. I was really happy to share most of the days with lovely acts like Bebetta or Seth Schwarz! You can find a tour-video on my facebook page end of November. 

Q: You recently released on Stil vor Talent. Which further projects are coming up next? 

A: I was on the road a lot the last weeks so I am pretty happy to finally find some time to work on a follow-up release for Stil Vor Talent with my buddy Prismode. We've already finished a bunch of tracks and I hope Oli will like them as much as we do. So, there will be a new EP pretty soon.

My first time at LIB and what a fun experience It was! A special mention to the Favela bar crew for having me play. I enjoyed every moment and will definitely be back again next year! This was a 2pm - 330pm set. I didn't know what to expect so I said i'd just vibe it out... Turned out to be a really fun few hours! :)

Sweet Mixtape #69 w/ Ali Farahani

Born in Milan Italy with Iranian heritage, Ali started music when he was 14 years old playing afro cuban percussions. Growing up in Italy, electronic music is ingrained into the culture and has had great influence on the evolution of his productions.

In 2011, he moved to LA and shifted away from European-tech to more sophisticated sounds with experimental grooves and slower beats inspired by his origins.

After moving to the US and being away from music for few years, he started producing and djing again and most recently opened the Santa Monica based label Pipe & Pochet with Patrik Khach. His goal is to inspire other artists and fans through music and has now began to showcase his productions in the US and beyond.
