The DownBeat Project is an album executively produced, written and creatively directed by Luther Brown.  As a seasoned creative director and choreographer, Luther is best known for his work on SYTYCD and with the likes of superstar artists such as: Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Agnez Mo and Mario, just to name a few.

For this project, he has assembled a fresh and unique cast of his super friends who happen to be major players in the dance industry and features them on this new vibe of music he coins as the ‘DownBeat’. Some of these artists include: Sharaya J, Parris Goebel, Vali, Matt Cady, Jaquel Knight, Lex Lu, Jonte, Dom B, Tony Tzar, Miss Prissy, Johnny Erasme, Mikey Pesante, Diddi, Bobbi Riley, Jordan Ward and Electrik Red.

Luther showcases his writing and vocal arranging skills on this album that will definitely turn heads, as it is new and innovative. An A&R at heart, Lu brings energy and fresh vision to the music and videos that accompany this project through his direction. As a veteran in the entertainment industry, Luther has been able to elevate and create superstars with his unique skill set of blending dance together with music in an ingenious way. All of the artists that are featured on this album are individually gifted and original, which combined with Luther’s creative direction makes this project extremely special. 

The music on The DownBeat Project can be described as hard hitting and out of the box.  YoungPete Alexander, a producer from Atlanta (CEO of theOFFICALS Music Group) is the main producer on this project. He and Luther have been creating and cultivating this new sound and with the recent addition of Julian Prindle, engineer extraordinaire who has worked with the likes of Dr. Dre and Mariah Carey; this trio is about to start a new trend.  The last time the music industry witnessed a moment like this would be the time Missy and Timbaland introduced their flavor to the world in the 90’s.
