The album will be broadcast in full for the first time today, 20th July at 9.30 - 11am, right before Ire vs Aus kick off.

The project showcases a diverse range of genres including dance, chants, punk, and more, capturing the spirit and passion for the team and for football as a unifying sport.

Following the surge of media attention on songs chanted in a dressing room just after the momentous defeat of Scotland to secure the team their first ever World Cup, we have a compilation album full of songs for everyone to dance to throughout the World Cup. The focus should always be on the football, but here’s some anthems to celebrate with!

The "Yup Girls" project brings together artists associated with two organisations: 1815 F.C. and ddr. 1815 F.C. is a dynamic, community-led DIY mixed football club, known for their dedication and love for the game. They meet every Wednesday and Sunday to play on free public access football pitches across Dublin city and Ireland, fostering an anti-establishment, vibrant and inclusive football culture.

Likewise ddr. is a community-based radio station that has been a constant source of support for local artists and initiatives. They have a history of collaboration with 1815 F.C., having previously broadcast commentary from matches as well as post-match interviews and DJ sessions.

Contemplative and unnerving ambient sounds swell towards a fulgurous breakbeat and emotional bass line. Converging with a sharp and introspective melody, an ambient portrait is created of a world that both haunts and hopes for better. 

I initially made this track about 8 months ago and came back to it recently. At the time my internal world (now much improved) and our entire world (still a depraved mess) felt impossible to make sense of. I was listening to a load of introspective, sad ambient music and soundscapes, so this is very much inspired by that music. I had vocal samples in this for a while and strongly considered live vocals too, but I scrapped all that. I am totally lost for words at the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people on their land that has been stolen from them. 

100% of the proceeds from this track will go to PAL humanity. This initiative provides aid primarily in the form of medication distribution, nappies, menstrual pads, baby formula etc. Engaging rigorously in the BDS boycott costs you nothing, please do that too. Keep marching, keep disrupting.
