Inspired by the sounds of Doctor Dru, The Mekanism, Hot Since 82, Larse and Pete Oak, https://soundcloud.com/shimmermusic is working his way up at the moment. Producing for 3 years now he is growing and making new music with Sivesgaard and Marco Darko. Next to dj’ing and producing he is also A&R Manager for the upcoming label from dutch organization Pleinvrees, who is also part of the collaboration project DGTL with Straf_werk. The Record label is called Pleinvrees Records and will start off with an EP from Robin Schulz.

Shimmer has some cool gigs to look forward to the coming months in Kiev, Paris, London and Aalborg. This Friday he plays in Zurich at Club Bellevue. Some more stuff is coming soon for Shimmer but that can’t be announced just yet. For now enjoy his fresh mix and check him out soon at one of his gigs.

Receiving the promo from his Blame Game EP on Hot Creations a little while ago, we knew we had to keep an eye on Greg Pidcock, who showed up out of nowhere with a massive EP on the Label owned by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss. Greg is an exceptional catch in our eyes. With the announcement of his debut album, Pidcock immediately showed us he had working on music for quite a while but waiting for the right moment to bring it to the people. I also noticed the cover from his EP. It was different then others and I had a feeling this had more to do with the artist then with the label. Doing some research showed his website with lots of artwork he did. When reading about his accident with a Neon sign at the age of 6 in Bangkok, things started to explain themselves; A true artist in many forms. 

The artwork was made by Greg himself. A nice neon touch to our logo!

Greg Pidcock - Deep House Amsterdam Mixtape #072

For the most part of the last decade, https://soundcloud.com/jaywestarg has been releasing House records. His versatile taste in House Music had brought his tracks to various labels like Off Recordings, Dikso, Large Music, Lost My Dog, Kolour and much more. Amongst his supporters are dj’s like Seth Troxler, Jimpster, Dimitri From Paris, Danny Howells, Oliver Koletzki, Noir, Todd Terje and Solomun. 

2012 was his most successful year so far with his radio hit ‘Smile’ remixed later by Mario Basanov and Sasse. It became an instant hit on Ibiza and was played at various radio stations. When joining forces with fella producer Manuel Sahagun this year, he quickly signed singles to Off Recordings, Electronique and Mother Recordings. 

He just had his first Europe tour and is coming back again around ADE. During our event on Sunday the 20th of October he will play alongside Mario Basanov, Ejeca, The Mekanism, Sean Brosnan and talents Prunk, PONY and Elias Mazian. We have a very special podcast for you this afternoon, made by one of Amsterdam's most promising young lads. Alexander Valentyn is a DJ/Producer whose name is beginning to resonate through Amsterdam's clubbing scene more and more. After working intensively on his own sound, Valentyn took another road in electronic music. With a more mature style and a personally renewed touch in house music, he has created a deep and nostalgic sound which flows through all his sets. With two new EP's on the way and an enthusiastic feeling about playing parties he's looking forward to show the crowd what he's all about.

His Wereld Vreemd Podcast for Deep House Amsterdam is one and a half hour of sheer house bliss. It's a bit more slow-pitched than we're used to by Alexander, prospecting the deeper side of his beloved genre. This makes the mix perfect for listening at home or at work. But of course a little dance is the best way to enjoy the fine tunes that he has delighted us with. Enjoy!

Check out Alexander's skills live at Wereldvreemd. Wereldvreemd is a collaboration by Jongens v/d Wereld and Klamme Handjes, two Amsterdam organisations that know how to throw a party. Valentyn will be standing next to the likes of Audiojack, Hector Couto Bodhi, Prunk, Elias Mazian and  many more. Hector Couto and Alexander already have a connection, since Ozzi's remix to his track '95' was feautured in Couto's November top 10 for Resident Advisor. On November 29th you can see all of these fine artists together at H7 Warehouse, the perfect spot for a sound like this.

Not often do you find people in this industry that can withstand the tides of time and flow through the trends finding success refining their sound. It’s even harder to come across success stories of people who have taken this to the next level to become the infallible taste maker. SoundPark met with one such taste maker, Malta native Sean Sammut aka The Element. Sammut created and nurtured a party concept from the ground up that helped distinguish his country as an unbelievable Mediterranean gig destination for seven months of the year. Since 2011, his flourishing party concept, Cosa Nostra, has been bringing in the industry’s most prolific house and techno djs and has set a precedence for pushing the scene forward in a big way on the Maltese Island. What better way to kick off a new year than with a new project? Sure, podcasts are nothing new, but by now the Dekmantel family has grown to the point where we have a lot to shout about. The DJ collective, festival and label are all well established, but we feel we need even more outlets for all the great music we have from our extended family. As such, we are launching a new weekly series that will showcase exclusive mixes from our favourite friends and freaks, with Marcel Dettmann going first. 

Aside from being a supremely tall and long haired human being, Marcel Dettmann is of course one of the techno powerhouses behind Berghain. It is his long, seductive and firmly rooted techno sets that have made the Berlin club, and man himself, so hallowed around the world. Also a fine producer who lays down his own brand of concrete funk on labels like Ostgut Ton, 50Weapons and his own eponymous label, he inaugurates our series with a very special live recording then from New Year’s Eve 2014 at Berghain. The resulting 90 minute set is everything it should be - supple and seductive, then freaky and funky, then deliciously dark and increasingly weird towards the end, so enjoy the ride.

It has been clearly proven that the Sicilian Mafia Themed Sunday Club Night ‘COSA NOSTRA’ has been one of the greatest unexpected outbursts in the local party scene.
In just 4 months, Cosa Nostra invaded Malta and unleashed a club night that strongly recaptured the island’s musical madness. Assisted by Sean Sammut’s (The Element) together turned this dream into a reality .
From then onwards, Cosa Nostra's aim was to keep at a consistent yet striking pace, a weekly packed club night. This succeeded immensely, strongly backed by its three main residents known for their profoundly deep record bags, playing a mixture of Sexy, Dark and Futurstic House & Techno.
Hand-picked renowned locals were also invited as guests each week, giving them the opportunity to slam their beats in front of their supportive and dedicated audience, an audience that kept the vibe twirling until the early hours of the Monday mornings.
Apart from performing at Prestige, Cosa Nostra decided to add a tasteful twist to its popular concept by going 'On Tour' bombarding various local venues in St. Julian’s including well known clubs such as Places, Sabor & Playground, alongside hosting large scale events.
With favored season two at their doorstep, Cosa Nostra's primary aim is to continue escalating this booming concept to eminent levels. To help this avail, foreign artists shall be headlining the event on a monthly basis. The team have also chosen to mark their territory yet again, this time moving to a newer more superior setting at sky club which has been given a more prominent face lift to add nothing but sheer class to the explosive concept, including the finest sound system around Funktion one.
In less than a year Cosa Nostra's ability to deliver a five star club night is evidently referred to as second to none. Their motto is strongly intensified by perseverance dedication and skillfulness at its best!
