In this age of carefully scripted press releases, cultivated images and online scrutiny Bülent Gürler is a bit of an oddity. For when you speak to the German electronic music maestro you truly get the sense that you could ask him any question no matter how personal or revealing and get a genuine response. This is a man as candid as he is talented.

Better known by his stage name of Butch here is a man with a brutish moniker conceals a deep yearning to explore new artistic soundscapes exemplified by the variation in his material. Constantly evolving, we caught up with the ever so slightly maverick German just as he was in the middle of getting changed on his return from the beach. Upon realizing we hadn’t gone into the wrong skype conversation with a naked man we proceeded to find out more about Butch penchant for change, problems he identifies within house and his plans for the future via his new imprint OtherSide and as yet unnamed band.

Acid Pauli (@acidpauli) and Nico Stojan’s (@nicostojan) Ouïe label acts as home for left-of-centre music from disparate sources - somehow connected by a thread of hedonism with a melancholic edge. Welcoming Kerala Dust (@keraladust) to the imprint, this four tracker showcases the different dance floor shades the label always reaches.

Kerala Dust are a London based trio that owe as much to Tom Waits as they do to Four Tet or DJ Koze, but somehow tread a fascinating line between genres and moods. Mixing jazz, indie and the sharper end of the club sound, Francesca’s Frames is the perfect introduction to their vibe.

'Maria' is augmented with a thick, mid tempo kick and sparse, effective percussion. The clever vocals provide the topping - showcasing the band’s pop writing prowess. The track will appear as a single release on 6th April accompanied by a music video.

Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan’s remix picks up the pace a little, while dubbing out the elements into deep, late night dance exploration.

'Nyla' brings a new vibe, deep, pulsing synths and a bubbling baseline accompany the crisp, compressed rhythm track before Ed’s iconic croon arrives to take the track to a new level.

'Wires' balances occasional piano chords, horns, blips and beeps with a nicely understated tech house groove. The seemingly disparate elements combine to create a vibe that will go over big with the parties and dance floors within the ever-expanding Ouïe ecosystem.

doing a release from him on my labels.
The time has come with this incredible “Vertigo” release.
Needless to say that I’ve been a fan of Kevin’s sound for years and supporting almost
every single release he’s had.
So I am obviously super happy to finally land his excellent music on NM2.
I feel we’ve put together a release so strong that it sets the bar extremely high for what’s
to come on NM2 in the future.
Kevin’s flair for making amazing melodies and soundscapes mixed with spot on
arrangements and in depth productions is a true pleasure for your ears.
Even when writing these words I slowly drift away and dive into the music with a smile on
my face.
To top it all we also got a superb remix from Marco Faraone who has been among my
favorite techno producers for years as well and one I have been wanting to release music
by for some time. His remix makes “vertigo” a more hard hitting and techno driven
banger.
Cleverly keeping all the melodies intact and wrapped up in heavy beats.
I feel blessed to have both these artists deliver such high quality music for NM2.

The third of our three EP vinyl and digital releases of WhoMadeWho’s Watergate 26 mix is here and it begins with Echonomist’s infectious and style bending ‘At The End Of The Day’. Mathias Schober seals the A side delivering a wild ride of warm percussion and intense strings while Stereocalypse flips the script commencing the B-side with the Dance Rock anthem ‘King Not Naked’. Clinching the release, Tim Engelhardt’s ‘Under Armour’ is an intoxicating excursion into late night dance floor theatrics making it the ideal cut to complete the EP.
