Every Tuesday at The Yoga Forest we are chanting devotional songs from around the world.

This is a special recording of our opening chant - The Pavamāna Mantra - which stands the tests of time to bring us the core of human prayer that still rings true today -

Pavamāna Mantra — Asatoma — Opening (live)

This track features the Chinese yangqin - hammered dulcimer,  and the erhu - two-stringed fiddle, together with Japanese shakuhachi flute.

It was recorded in Kyoto in 1997 when I was living in Japan, and was composed as a wedding present for my wife Noriko.

A much shorter version of this piece appears on the album As I Breathe, but this is the first time the full-length original version has been released
