With pleasure we announce the next album by Stacks, called ‘Love and Language’.

Stacks is the Belgian duo of Jan and Sis Matthé. These Antwerp residents build and undress different timbres and textures into vocal-hooked songs, flouting the rules of pop in the process. We at Knekelhuis appreciate this immensely and are delighted to work with them. ‘Love and Language’ is a romantic, moody pop-not-pop record in which everything falls perfectly into place.

Empty Room is a heart-wrenching ballad that captures the ache of love lost. Every lyric echoes with loneliness — from the clock ticking too loud in the silence to the coffee mug left untouched, a haunting reminder of someone who is no longer there. The song blends raw vulnerability with atmospheric production, painting the picture of a man broken by absence yet still tethered to memory. It’s not just about an empty space — it’s about the storm that doesn’t break, the echoes that linger, and the unbearable weight of silence.

Funeral Suits are a four-piece from Ireland consisting of Brian James, Mik McKeogh, Greg McCarthy and Dar Grant. The music they make is expansive without being overblown, heavy without being menacing and all the more thrilling for its restraint. 

A shared love of epic, distorted guitars, blistering harmonius pop, art rock and
electronica led to the band spending the best part of two years holed up in a disused office space in deepest North County Dublin, writing, rehearsing and at times venturing out to play as special guests for Franz Ferdinand, Passion Pit, The Maccabees, Local Natives amongst others.

Funeral Suits have recorded their debut album 'Lily of the Valley' with acclaimed producer Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths) which is due for release on Model Citizen records on June 1st in Ireland and June 4th everywhere else.
