Played this wicked little festival on Saturday, on the outskirts of Worthing, in a weird sort of castle thing that was once owned by Mary Shelley. You could feel the ghosts of Sterns in this place, though, felt like there were some Sterns veterans there, so I couldn't resist busting out the house classics for this one. One of the most fun, enjoyable shows I've done this year.

コズミックの創始者ダニエル バルデリ。イタリアのラリーレヴァンとも評されるバルデリはdjキャリア40年にも及ぶ来日していなかった最後のビッグネームと言えるだろう。77'-79'のクローズまでレジデントを勤めたイタリアンディスコの伝説的クラブ"baia degli angeli"。ガラス張りのエレベーター式djブースで上下フロアを往来させ、インドア/アウトドアに2つのプールとそれぞれのダンスフロアを設けた計4フロアからなる、シャンパンの川が流れたというイタロディスコ前夜に存在したディスコでプレイしていたクラッシックスをコンパイル/ミックスした「baia degli angeli 1977-1978」、その後のバルデリのスタイルを決定づけたと言える宇宙船のコックピットの様なdjブースでお馴染みの伝説のクラブ"cosmic"でプレイしていたクラッシックスをコンパイル/ミックスしたその名も「cosmic the original」でコズミック再評価が高まり、ここ日本でも数多くのメディアに取り上げられ、force of nature等のアーティストにも多大な影響を与えた。独自の視点からありとあらゆるジャンルの音楽をピックアップし、45rpmの曲を33rpmでプレイしたり(またその反対も)、ディスコやファンクの後にエレクトロニックミュージック、フュージョン、ブラジルなどをプレイし、スティーブライヒのミニマルな楽曲とアフリカのマリンバをミックスしたり、バトゥカーダとクラフトワークをミックスしたり、フェラクティの曲にシンセサイザーで効果音を加えたりと独自のテイストでミックスし、また絶妙なタイミングと各曲のピッチを記憶しているかの如く正確無比なミックススキルで数多くのdjに影響を与え続けて来たまさにdjのオリジネーター。
