We reworked this classic for your listening pleasure.  Taking the original samples and following the guidelines that DJ Premier etched out. The Charlie Parker and Miles Davis sample is the driving force with the James Brown guitar and a cool Latin groove that comes from his Live at the Apollo II album filling in the full sound.  Re-working some elements in a new way with modern drums our own take on the track for a fresh spin on an amazing classic.

'I just want to get funky for you today' is the opening statement on Special People and that's exactly what they do as this B-side keeps the party going. Supplied with copious amounts of percussion breaks, jazz flute and a sweet bassline in a groove that could make even a statue dance, there is more funk packed into this track than an out of date stilton.

Hi Fellas,
Here is the ultimate long DUB Re - Therapy for the Funky Bounce track...
I tried to turn it into a real feel-good "Hand-clapping" track that contains the following inputs  :
- some additional party shouts from Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth
- I replayed the Funky Bass line, in order to give it more subtle bottom end
- a new Drum beat with many sophisticated fills in and back beat
At the end, you get a 11:50 long version, with my Funky sorcerer kinda sound, that has a 108 bpm.
I hope this will bring more positive Funkiness and help people forget a bit those rough times we're going through...

Funky Bounce (DoctorSoul Watch It Babe - The Long DUB Re - Therapy)

Hard to believe it, but Funkier Radio is turning one year old! Really doesn't seem like that long ago that I was nervously recording episode 1, and the formula hasn't really changed over the last year - it's still me playing some of the funkiest cuts from my personal music collection in hour 1, then handing over to a fellow DJ to take you through hour 2. 

All of the guest mixes on the show are very special to me, but I've pulled out all the stops for this first birthday edition, and have a real treat for you. I'm massively excited to bring you an exclusive hour of music from the incredible All Good Funk Alliance. I've been into these guys for as long as I can remember, and I think their mixes really embody a lot of my vision for Funkier Radio - eclectic selections of deep cuts from across the spectrum of funk, disco, hip hop, latin, jazz world music and the rest, all threaded together with the common strand of funkiness... and the way they assemble these wonderful tunes in their mixes blows me away every time. Their guest mix crams in no fewer than 25 tracks, and it truly is a treat.
