Now, what do we have here... A brand new offering by Mr. Panthera Krause. You know, Krause as in Riotvan shareholder and co-curator, fun guy behind the decks (and in general) and last but not least innovator and maverick of all things House. Krause has been proven over the course of his previous EPs on Riotvan that his approach to electronic music is one of a kind and never lacks a certain tongue in cheek attitude. Exactly that is now validated by these two new cuts, maybe more concise and on point than ever. And these tunes are not only an indicator about where the boy is at right now, they are also a foretaste of an album that will be released later that year on Riotvan.

Side one contains the "Genki Girl", a character of the rather quirky kind, it seems. Krause introduces a beat rich in cowbell and tambourine use, topped by a guitar lick, that sparks some memories of that time when Funk and Punk fell in love and a label like DFA had its heydays. While adding synth arrangements, one could assume, Krause might've gone a bit bonkers for a second. And that's applying to both, the rhythmic patterns as well as the lead that throughout time gets adapted by various other instruments. A rich and haywire tune that still retains an utmost floor appeal. 

Same goes for "Spring Irre" on the flipside. As the German title already indicates, this one is even nuttier. Guitar samples triggering a certain Talking Heads memento meet eccentric pitchshift modulations and an indeed jumping bass sounding as if it was played by Bootsy Collins on ephedrine. A sidestepping, plain unpredictable monster of a track that despite of all its complexity at any moment delivers groove and joy and unrestricted frenzy.

Skatebård and Lauer team up for the second collaboration titled Volpe. The EP bundles italo disco, classic house, 80’s synth music and features a cover drawing by Norwegian space disco pioneer Bjørn Torske. Volpe will be released on January 10th, 2020.

Here comes the new Electrique Music release, directly from the deep grounds of Badajoz in Spain. They say the best is the rest, and the very well hidden guys from Gameboyz support the idea.
Their work is a mixture of cheesy dance music, distorted guitars from the hard rock era and harsh ¨canalla¨ lyrics that just a young macho from the Iberic Peninsula could think of. El Calor del Foco is an instant iberic-disco hit, with special vocals from Juana Gosa. El Baile Magico is a killer low tempo jewel, and El Toro is a mid tempo rock n´disco track that makes a pretty good homage to the national spanish animal and its well known private parts.

We all know Liepzig is something of a hot bed for incredible music, and a new band to add the frowing list of artists and labels from the German city is New Hook. The three piece female group bring together influences in new wave, post punk and synth pop, creating their own heady, low strung sound. Having contributed to local label Riotvan's Familiar Faces compilation earlier this year, they now make their debut on Curses' Ombra International imprint matching beguiling vocals with seductive synth melodies and woozy guitars.

Dar Disku release their fourth installment of middle eastern records flipped for the dancefloor. Composed of two club-ready edits of popular music from the MENA region, the duo are building even more steam from their release of the egyptian classic 'Sahrany' (Tjade Edit) (Dar Disku 003) and Sidi Mansour (Moving Still Edit) (DD002). Played out across the world by the likes of DJ Seinfeld, Palms Trax, Hunee and more, these new edits re-imagine what life on an 80's gulf discotheque feels like. With their last two records receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Resident Advisor (Tracks of the Year), CRACK Magazine, Vice and Esquire, the duo are set to transport you into a forgotten era once more.

Side ‘B’ features a collaboration of two long-standing Dar Disku favourites, Dublin via Saudi Moving Still and Tjade from the Netherlands. Equally responsible for some of the biggest hits across the dance music scene in the last two months (Rush Hour chart topping ‘Koi Jaye and Sidi Mansour) the pair have collaborated to create the italo-esque edit of egyptian pop star Azza Kamal’s ‘Maadna Bkra’. The tape was originally found by Moving Still on a recent visit to his hometown and was later sampled to create the track. Azza’s iconic vocals echo throughout the track with the classic call and response found in the music from his era. Tjade’s signature drums paired with Jamal’s trademark arpeggiator bass create a dancefloor future classic. On a recent visit to the Gulf, Moving Still went on a treasure hunt through the markets of his home town. “ I hadn’t got a chance to listen to all of them but with the COVID-19 lockdow, I began to sift through my finds. The minute I heard Maadna Bukra I texted the label saying “you have no idea what I just found..”. As I got started I already visualised Tjade collaborating on it. Weirdly enough he got in touch and asked if I would be interested in working on an edit together. It’s so lovely to be able to work with someone you admire musically and lockdown shows us that you don’t have to worry about being in the same city. I always believed the two of us would end up working on a song together, and to put it out on a label I believe in and to be able to give back to the community is a wonderful privilege. “

In light of current worldwide events - the importance of togetherness, equality and diversity are more important than ever. Music is one of the tools that enable this and Dar Disku (together in agreement with Moving Still and Tjade) will be donating 50% of profits from the release directly to middle-eastern based charities.

Eclectics, heterodox, energetics bus most of all Iberians. They are Gameboyz - the Spanish duet formed by Charlie (Carlos Franco) and Kali (Luis Vallespín) - two producers like two volcanos erupting. They are recognized because they are always looking to the future searching inspiration into the past. As a result they have published “Carne de Puerca”, “El Calor del Foco” or “Mucho Danger”. 

Their Live Acts are full of synths, vocals and effects and their adaptability is well known by their audience. Gameboyz was born in 2012 along with Da Well (Manuel Maidero) and they have played in several clubs as Apolo, Lanna Club, Razzmatazz, Siroco or La3.

They have also founded Melómana Records, their private sanctuary where they have published Alejandro Paz, Damon Jee, Stockholm Syndrome, Tronik Youth among others.
