Originally, the Spritz is a drink from Venetia, Italy. Today were delighted to serve you a German twist of the aperitif classic made by no one less than Elias Doré, the force behind Rebellion der Träumer. 

Originally from Berlin, Elias explored many facets of music by performing in various bands and genres, from Afro-Funk in Dakar, Klezmer and Gipsy in London to Reggae and Soul in Berlin, before fully immersing himself in electronic music. What has over time stayed with him is his love for melodic warmth and organic sounds. Not confined by tempo or genre boundaries, Elias always takes his time to create a context and narrative around his music. 

His latest releases include a remix of Touzani's 'Asi Es La Vida' on Trndmsk Records, 'Nubivagant' together with Paul Baule on the most recent Harabe Nightmares compilation as well as 'Batura' together with the boys from LADS on Rebellion der Träumer.

On the morning of our departure to Mexico we share another divine podcast for the February's Fortune series. It is created by the Parallells, two brothers that have been deeply loved by our family since the moment they walked into our lives.

We are impressed by them. Not only by their personality, by their smiles or by the way they seem to glide through life. We are impressed by them as two young and passionate artists. Creative, inventive and always inspiring. You might have seen their vlog series where they record a full day of sounds in a restaurant, a wood factory or some other bizar place to use these sounds in a track later that day.

We are forever in love with the Parallells.

February's Fortune - Parallells

What you're (hopefully) gonna listen to is a set I played from 10:00 to 12:40 at Do Not Sit on the Furniture last Friday.

There were very few people in the club when I started playing, which was perfect to play some of the slow tunes I've been digging lately :) As people started arriving to the club, things started going a little bit crazier :P

One thing is to tell a story to some (very picky) people in SoundCloud, but playing in a club is something completely different. I tried to please the crowd, making sure I only play music I love 100%. The energy was amazing, everyone dancing. I couldn't be happier and grateful :)

Have in mind this was a dj set, in a club, my debut ;) This is not a podcast.

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen! 

Welcome onboard this flight with Schirmchendrink! Today, Elif’s music will take us on a synthesized and organic ride to the sky. Her cocktail “Above the Clouds” let’s us dream of wonderful views of fluffy clouds hovering around beautiful mountain peaks or a bustling metropolis’ skyscrapers.  

Having her roots in the city of Istanbul, as a nomad and free soul, Elif’s wings definitely have brought her above the sky as she’s a regular selector at top venues both locally and internationally with her unique blend.

She reveals a musical taste that is unafraid to go in the dark territories as much as upbeat anthems as she’s unafraid to experiment with modern sounds, while also displaying an appreciation for more conventional instrumentation. Her style is characterized by raw percussion that creates relentless groove, combined with melody carried by both electronic and acoustic instruments to achieve an atmosphere which highlights her roots in the ancient city of Istanbul in a contemporary fashion.

Energy levels range from relaxed to raging, the way in which Elif moves between the two demonstrating her understanding of the necessity of diversity throughout a set, as well as her technical skill in creating mixes that progress in an exceptionally smooth and gradual way. 

As a strong female figure in the conservative society she grew up in, she even has a TEDx talk under her belt amongst other numerous online contents for inspiring her generation. 

But this is just the beginning. She’s keen to inspire and touch more and for that she’s spending more time in her studio and carefully connecting to her inner self to reveal emotions to express with music. We can anticipate more stories told in depth as she’s already in progress of cooking her own tunes to share with the world very soon.

There’s a certain aura that surrounds the music coming out of Romania. The scene, something that has been in existence since the early 90’s has long been acknowledged as a breeding ground for illustrious DJ’s and producer talent. Anyone with even a passing interest in underground electronic music will attest that.

Having spent countless hours listening to a plethora of music genres while growing up in Romania, Adrian developed a wide knowledge of music, which helped him craft a rich sound of his own.

Adrian started exploring the deeper and more experimental side of the music spectrum, after he relocated to Miami, Florida in 2006. His groove-infused sets, blending minimal and deep house, have landed him gigs at venues like Treehouse and Electric Pickle, which subsequently led to a residency at Do Not Sit On The Furniture.

From 2016 to 2018, Adrian shared the decks with the likes of YokoO, Tim Green, Hoj, Brian Cid, Nico Stojan, David Hohme, Kimball Collins, Robbie Akbal, Kiki, Gab Rhome, Dance Spirit, Miyagi, Oona Dahl, Dave Dk and many more.

The launch of Magician On Duty label in 2016 signaled that Adrian is restless in his pursuit of sharing his musical taste to an up-for-it crowd.

Adrian’s sheer eclecticism as a tastemaker quickly starts to pay off. His label started garnering support from industry heavyweights from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, YokoO, Rampue, Lost Desert, Be Svendsen, Mira and many more.

With a growing interest from the music community, Magician On Duty releases peaked at #1 in Beatport’s Top 100 Minimal/Deep Tech Releases in 2017 along with several other releases in Beatport’s Top 100.

It is a pleasure to see how artists like Adrian are restless, and constantly trying to channel creativity through every medium possible.

Adrian is showcasing his demand to continuously master his craft and broaden his musical horizon, and needless to say, it makes for fascinating listening whatever your taste in music may be.

"It was getting closer to sunset. We boarded the Mayan Warrior together with the bride, our closest girlfriends, and the sound crew. We set off into the dusty deep playa in search of the fire breathing dragon where her twin flame was waiting. We were received by our tribe, all dressed in white, and the ceremony began. We witnessed the union of the two most beautiful souls, blessed by three shamans, surrounded by love and the highest vibrations. I climbed the stairs back to the top of the Mayan Warrior and so began the musical journey. As the sun dipped behind the mountains and the vibrant colors began to fade, we went deeper, darker. 

That day, so many dreams became reality. Words can't describe the gratitude I feel for being a part of this magic. Thank you Mayan Warrior for making this all possible."
