This week’s Papaya Playa Project SoundCloud DJ set recording comes from our very own resident, Litos. Introduced into music at a young age, he found his calling as a DJ and producer in 2010, creating eclectic soundscapes that range from ethereal sounds to electronica. As a resident DJ for PPP, Litos never fails to create a celestial and euphoric sound that translates perfectly for both the casual listeners and the dance-floor enthusiasts.

Inbal Lankry is the founder of Prisma Artists, an independent talent agency established in 2017, representing electronic musicians and brands worldwide with a focus on North & South America. For over a period of 15 years, Inbal has developed a solid foundation in various aspects of the music industry ranging from DJing, promotions, event production and marketing to bookings and management. 

Lankry’s beginnings can be traced back to  age 15 when she was promoting for legendary New York Clubs, Limelight, Tunnel and Palladium, while simultaneously helping out older brother DJ Baby Sean with his residencies at various hot spots all over the city. She later migrated to South Florida in 2003, where Inbal & her siblings opened Sonar nightclub in Hollywood, voted Best Club of 2004 and 2005 by Miami New Times. A natural progression into DJing followed, making her one of the only female DJ/promoters in Miami's local underground house music scene at the time.  With her return to Miami in 2020 from a long interlude in Los Angeles, she has come back to Djing and has gained a reputation over the years for super tasteful cross-genre sets and has performed  at some of the best parties & venues in both cities.

After gaining some notoriety in the South Florida scene through her club and satellite parties, she took on the role of Marketing & Booking Director for the legendary Electric Pickle in Miami 2009-2012. Inbal was instrumental in the success of making the venue one of the most sought-after gigs in the United States for artists across the globe. During her time there, the Electric Pickle was voted one of the Best US club by Rolling Stone.  Simultaneously, she also produced several events throughout Miami yearly including Get Lost, Paradise, Crew Love, etc.

In 2012 she  became one of the agents on Damian Lazarus' formed Rebel Agency that was later to join CAA. After joining CAA and working in the corporate agency world as an agent at CAA, Winidsh/Paradigm where she developed several acts including: Hercules & Love Affair, Purple Disco Machine, Soul Clap, Amtrac, Kindness, Fur Coat etc. she finally branched out and founded Prisma Artists in 2017 where she continues to develop her roster with a passion for innovative artists.

With a far-reaching contact base and years of experience in the industry she provides high level of service and a unique approach of touring to the following clients on the Prisma roster including; &ME, Francesca Lombardo, Max Cooper, Rampa, Jennifer Cardini, Keinemusik, Telefon Tel Aviv, Patrick Holland, Satori, Adam Port, Moscoman, Tiger & Woods, etc.  Inbal, is constantly on the foreground of the next wave of electronic artists with her keen A&R ear she continues to develop the next wave of artists. Most recently she has played regularly in the Miami scene, most notably at  the soaring Where Are My Keys with some of the best line ups in the US. Urbina @ Tierra Bomba - Burning Man 2022

As I was riding my bike back from a dip in the lake by Sao Lourenço de Barrocal, I received a phone call from the organizer of Barrocal Sound, Duarte Uva, who was in a bit of a panic. The headliner for tonight's festivities, the Boss, Michael Mayer's original flight was cancelled and he wouldn't arrive to the venue until after he was supposed to play. Duarte asked me if I had my USB stick and if I could keep the crowd warm. 

As a child, I always liked my substitute teacher's because I got to take advantage of them. The crowd that night did the same to me. They were viciously misbehaving underneath the lights of the Knights Templar Arena. It was an honor to play before the man who started my favorite record label, Kompakt. A big thank you to all who were dancing under the stars, Michael Mayer for the inspiration, Duarte Uva for the opportunity and the Knights Templar for upholding the principles of order.

We are honored of Carlita being the third Turkish artist who leaves their print on our series. She’s a nomad spirit and a rising multiculturally inspired DJ/Producer with releases on Leveldva and Lump Records. She has also played alongside Madmotormiquel, Raz Ohara, Eli Light, Lemurian, Oceanvs Orientalis and more.

Carlita’s creations reflect the mixture of Middle Eastern and Latin American cultures. Her styles are a spiritual and unpretentious combination of ethnic atmospheres, latin rhythms, afro disco and tropical psychedelia. 

Her ecos del mundo mixtape is interwoven with timeless melancholia, where musings of a long-gone era dance gently upon the surface, as it lets you immerse in deeply-rooted sounds and instruments from around the World.

Xquic is a mythological figure known from the 16th century Quiché Maya manuscript Popol Vuh. She was the daughter of one of the lords of Xibalba, called Cuchumaquic, Xibalba being the Maya Underworld. Noted particularly for being the mother of the Maya Hero Twins, Hunahpu and Xbalanque, she is sometimes considered to be the Maya goddess associated with the waning moon.

The Hero Twins represent the balance we see in our universe between light and darkness, and the balance in society between men and women. Their life story is actually the oldest Mayan myth to have been fully preserved and recorded. Something we find quite interesting about mythologies from all over the globe is that the deities tend to be related to each other.

 Today we open the last week of March with this beautiful mix by the @bespoke-musik’s Queen, Carlita (@carla-frayman) from New York City. As we go through this magical musical journey, we take a moment to be grateful with the Universe for all the opportunities it has given to us. First, the chance to make our dream festival, The Monastery, a reality. Second, for our sold out Wild As The Moon event this Saturday with Acid Pauli, Sven Dhose, Sam Shure and Geju. And last, but not least, the world-wide expansion of our family.

Before properly meeting Carlita, our paths crossed several times… First, through social media and recommendation from a good friend and then her music came to us and…WOW, how amazed we got… Not only her mixing skills are on point, but her music selection was an OMG moment. Perfect. This artist carries such a humble and sweet personality that fits perfectly with our family vibe..
