Born in Sta. Mesa, Manila on November 29, 1988, Gene Paulo R. Balenton is an upcoming Filipino recording artist, who performs under the name "Gene Roca". He has caught the attention of the audience with his mesmerizing and soothing voice.

Gene started singing when he was eleven years old and during his third year in high school, Gene formed a rock band together with his friends called "11th Hour". As fun as it was, it was also a struggle for Gene since his musical influences were different from those of his band mates. Graduation came, 11th Hour was disbanded.

Gene would often describe himself as simple but romantic guy. His musical influences range from Rock to soul; R&B to House. His biggest impact though is Boyz ll Men. He attributes Craig David, Robin Thicke, R. Kelly, Maxwell, Usher and Ryan Leslie. Mint Condition, Earth Wind and Fire, Tower Of Power, Mr. Big, Extreme, Maxwell, Oasis, Babyface, One Republic, John Legend, Brian McKnight, Stevie Wonder, and U2 serves as his musical heroes as well.

In the summer of 2010, Gene was introduced to Ninks, a hip-hop artist on the rise. Conversing and sharing each other’s musical inspirations then led on to a collaboration of the song “Beautiful Lady”, with FlipMusic. Jumbo De Belen a.k.a Bojam, the producer of FlipMusic worked on this track. Bojam saw that Gene was a possible talent and sent him a beat to work on which gave birth to Gene's first original, “Queen” which featured Viktoria and B-Roc from the Turbulance Crew. Both “Beautiful Lady” and “Queen” is included in FlipMusic’s Astigflip Volume 2 album. Months later, "Queen" came out on WAVE 89.1 FM followed by two nominations at the Urban Music Awards which was held at Eastwood City, Quezon City, January 29, 2011 - Best New Artist and Best Original Song for "Queen". At the 3rd Urban Music Awards, March 28, 2012, his song "Superman" was nominated for Best Original Song. Incidentally, he was also nominated for Best Male Style Icon of the Year and bagged the award.

Music is as diverse as it gets, and it’s quite rare to see a talent who manages to dip his hands into just about everything imaginable with so much success.  This is what KidWolf has accomplished.  Hailing from Zamboanga del Norte, he first realized his dreams of becoming a music producer during his younger days, eventually establishing ground in the local music scene with his very first triumph --- winning the 1st EMEX Original Song Production contest with his track, “Anna”, and the rest is history yet to be made.    

Recognized for his affinity for electronic dance music and making it prominent among his various creations, he has created a name for himself in the industry which has put him in high demand with such established artists like Sarah Geronimo, Karylle, BV, Enrique Gil and others.
