This three-track package on DFTD celebrates the 10-year anniversary of 'Suddenly Funk' by Brazilian techno producer Renato Cohen; an addictive, squelching record full of character that incorporates elements of techno, acid and, of course, funk. Now a fresh remix from Ibiza knockout Andrea Oliva updates the classic for 2023 audiences; a rapid, persistent bass drills underneath the busy, acidic textures to create a club-ready cut bursting with energy. Italian pioneer Marco Lys remixes an international club hit by Cool Jack on DFTD, ‘Just Come’. Cool Jack, comprised of influential DJ and Black Moon Records owner Angelino Albanese, producer Gianni Visnadi and vocalist Tom Hooker, originally released ‘Just Come’ in 1992. The addictive track then received remixes from DJ Sneak, Ralphi Rosario, The Sharp Boys and is now updated for modern clubs by fellow Italian Marco Lys. A top ten best-selling house artist on Beatport and one of the most listened to tech house artists on Spotify, Marco Lys’s remix of ‘Brighter Days’ by Cajmere featuring Dajae was supported by A-list producers and played at every major club and festival throughout 2023. The relentless energy of the original ‘Just Come’ is matched here by Marco’s expert production skills, building and releasing waves of tension with ease resulting in a club track that is sure to dominate 2024.

Remember when you were just children, trying to build something out of a pile of Lego bricks, and how there was always one annoying brick missing? So often we get the same feeling coming across big compilations: the attempt to remain faithful to a genre or to a label's flavour sets unnecessary borders to a world that should remain borderless. Then, when we go over all the pieces, we realize that something is missing, that one or two of them were left outside that fence.
