BATTLE AGAINST THE WORLD; Redux (the joker) unfinished

* You wish to return "home", do you not?
* Ahead of us lies the barrier.
* The only thing keeping us safe here...
* And you seek to destroy it..?
* ... Or just to cross it?

* My child, don't you see...
* How much you'll hurt us..?
* In your single-minded quest to go "home", you are going to ruin everything we have.
* By shattering our safety, or our throne.

* I am only protecting you, do you understand?
* Protecting you from your naivety.
* Protecting you from yourself!
* Protecting you from... what I'll have to do!
* So, be a good child and stand down. 
* Please...

* I BEG YOU

* ... But no.
* Oh, no no no, no no...

* You humans never see reason, do you?
* It doesn't matter how many monsters you must endanger for your own sake.

Furtherfell is an AU, split into several branches, portraying the various hypothetical neutral endings of the 'canon' Underfell. In this instance, 'canon' refers to the version on Tumblr, created by the infinitely talented Fella. They don't actually consider it canon, but for Furtherfell it most certainly is. It can be found here (https://underfell.tumblr.com/)
It is inspired by the concept of Aftergore, though only in concept and not in execution. Our story follows a human by the name of Hare, entering a world they do not understand, that has been forever changed by the actions of someone they've never even met.
We won't be 100% accurate to Underfell; some elements may be changed, either due to a lack of information or just due to us wanting something to differ.
"Furtherfell - Rethroned" follows on from an incomplete pacifist ending. Toriel comes out of hiding, and establishes herself as “Mother” of the underground, making swift changes to how things work. She maintains a strict rule, attempting to prevent another reign of tyranny. Humans are to be treated with kindness, and to be delivered to the Queen.

In Furtherfell: Rethroned, Toriel takes the role of her ex-husband, Asgore. Faced with a leaderless Underground after her ex-husband’s death, Toriel knew she was the only one that could do what needed to be done. The only one with leadership experience to make up for the King’s demise. The only one who could stand the weight of the entire Underground on her shoulders… She was almost right. Mother Toriel’s policies made the underground a better place for almost everyone. A new Captain, a new Scientist, all in the interest of improvement. However, the self-styled Mother has almost fallen apart. Beaten, but not yet broken, by the world she’s tried so hard to save, Toriel decrees that humans are to be treated with kindness, and brought to her.

However, when she's faced with a new human, this seems to change. Hare has resisted her Royal Guard at every turn, and so clearly does not merely want to have a slice of pie with her. Hare wants to proceed, no matter their reasoning for doing so. She cannot have someone threaten her protection, threaten to undo all of the progress that she has made. And so, she goes down in flames.
