"Three years ago, Harley & myself met in his bed room studio for the very first time. This track was actually an idea from that very session.

Today we find ourselves back at home, together, after many months on the road from our various projects. 
Our core focus to finalise our forthcoming Singles, it feels symbolic that three years on we find ourselves coming full circle to finish this same song we started that very first day.

We reflect on how much has changed & how much is still the same. From my 9-5 desk job to now writing music & DJing around the globe. From his bed room ambitions to being the forefront of dance music subculture. We're still two young dudes, that love the ocean, hanging with our friends in the city we've grown up in & hunting for things that inspire us.

▼ STORY BEHIND THE SONG

Top Hat Tom never ceases to impress with his trusty magic top hat. That's why they're always cheering his name.

With one flick of his wrist, an explosion of colors and sounds erupt from his hat. Man, this is awesome. The crowd is loving it.

But later on the lights drop low... what is he doing?

This was actually the first ever track I released a snippet of on SoundCloud just to see the reaction. This track took a little more time than usual to finish, as each synth and sound had to be meticulously automated and modulated to create all the rhythms. I'm really happy how this one came out! I hope you are, too!

Who doesn't love a slap bass? It always reminds me of Seinfeld, but in an awesome way. 

This is actually one of the first songs I created after I bought "Komplete" from Native Instruments, which I posted about on my Facebook. It's basically a $1,000 package that comes with awesome stuff to make music with... like the incredible bass sound that you hear in this song.
I was so excited to be working with "real" instruments, I had to make one of my first songs slap with a slap bass... and I totally love how it came out!

Holy crap! Superhuman is flying over our heads right now! Damn, he's got no respect for our personal space. No, get off the house, Superhuman! You can't dance there! I just got the roof fixed! Ugh, at least his dance is super cool.

(I'd want the power of flight if I could be a superhuman... or maybe the power to never be cold. I hate being cold.)

This is another one of the first tracks I finished after getting Komplete. In this track, I was experimenting with new workflows for drum sequencing using a drum sampler called Battery. I totally love it now.

I really enjoy this track. Fun fact -- I'm saying "You know, it's pretty easy. Just move." In this I'm referring to two things.

1) Dancing is really easy, but everyone makes a big deal of it. You just move! It's all about personal expression, and it's super fun. I'm not a great dancer, but I have a great time dancing!
2) In life, it's easy to be happy. Just continue to move. Always. Find your passion. Explore it. Just move. Easy.

Imagine an awesome Jazz band. Now picture a monster sneak up on them, and then a giant battle begins between them. That's what I hear in this song.

This actually went through many different transitions before it's sitting where it is today.

I really enjoy it because its structure is a little different than usual, and it doesn't flow as “easily” as a lot of other songs. This to me makes the different sections so unique and really makes it a journey.
This one, similar to “Kinetic”, is another of my earlier experiments with swing groove.

In the bonus tracks, there is an earlier version of this with a completely different drop called “Baby’s First Words.”
