Something in My Mind

The Hot Moon is:

Zu         - Voice / Bass / Keyboards
Joel      - Guitars / Voices
Alex      - Drums / Voices

The Hot Moon was formed in 1990 from the remnants of The Popping Toasters. Guitarist, Joel, and lead singer and bassist, Zu began writing and recording all original material. After an extensive (and I do mean extensive) search, they added drummer, Alex to the mix and the planned trio was complete.

The band continued to write, record, and perform around Chicago for the next couple years to medium success, partnering with friends in The Rebel Peasants for many shows, including The Air & Water Show on Chicago's waterfront. During this time they also released their 4-song EP, including the tracks: The Kicking Chair, i, The Garden, and Them.

In 1994, Joel and Zu relocated to Detroit. They did an extensive search for a drummer (again!) and found Bob. The sound of The Hot Moon evolved with more fretless bass, electronic drums, more atmospheric guitar work, and sampling.

The Hot Moon continued to write, record, and perform around the Midwest. In 1998, after many shows, releases, and a lot of time in the studio, The Hot Moon called it quits.
