The child stepped onto the ship, walking in line with everyone. His family nudging him along as he walked through large hallways and corridors. The white walls gave off a sterile and cold feel. He looked around as flashing lights and neon signs led the tourist group to the main observatory deck. Dozens of families were crowding the windows as the ship began to take off. They were all told to get back in their seats. The child and his family sat down to relax until takeoff had completed. The sound of the engines was a bit much so the child covered his ears. When it was all over and they were out of the planets atmosphere, the father tapped his child’s shoulder. He got up with his son and walked him over to the window frame that everyone was crowding around earlier. The child saw stars, ships flying by, and space stations orbiting the planet they left. He was awestruck…
