Gone were the days of sitting around idly, just trying not to get beaten up while waiting for your sentence to be over. No, you were incarcerated in a virtual penal education portal. Imagine a video game that felt, sounded, and looked like reality, but where you were made, with vivid, graphic detail, to relive your crime against humanity from the receiving end in shocking and deeply moving ways that could only be imagined. Then, you were forced to learn, at length, the gaps in your ignorance. Through the brutal autocracy of supply-side economics, private prisons devolved into skyscrapers full of tiny cells, barely wider than the wingspan of a large adult. Strapped into "the machine," as they called it, and plugged into "Convict University", your body and mind were constantly in motion, while in reality, you were in a perpetual state of aestivation. A highly engineered fungus was both part of your daily sustenance and your captor. It was forced through a tube, along with a nutrient-rich slurry awash in hypnotic drugs and antibiotics. This was such a cheaper and more effective form of incarceration and re-education that it swept the globe. Even so, some estimated that a full 3.8% of the planet's global energy output was consumed by these towers of torpor and the systems that re-learned all those who needed their thinking corrected. Curiously, these systems had originally been designed by the Russians for keeping mortal bodies working and minds sharp during deep space travel and were adapted to this disturbingly efficacious purpose upon that once-proud nation’s plunge into the depths of cruel, capitalistic oligarchy..."

This is maybe the most unexpected show I performed so far. The Next is a little nightclub located in the middle of the historical centre of Strasbourg. It's a neat venue, with a nice staff and a good sound-system, but one can say it's very mainstream music-driven, so the odds to hear experimental, or even electronica stuff there is near zero.

Actually that was quite a challenge for me to adapt my style to this peculiar place. I had to find the right balance between my usual weird no input sounds, and some more musical/danceable elements, so I wouldn't lose the whole audience instantly. Turned out it worked pretty well, as people looked like they were really enjoying the moment. Interestingly, the most receptive were the younger part of the audience. I remember that the deeper we went into the expedition, the larger was the physical separation between the older ones, chatting and smiling in the background, and the younger ones, nervously dancing and headbanging just in front of me.

Just like the photons that were created more than 13 billion years ago traveling at what we thought was a Cosmological Constant, time is an illusion. Were you that photon, you would not experience any time at all, the journey would happen in less than an instant. In fact everything to a photon moving at the speed of light happens in less than an instant, things do not appear or disappear, they are not created or destroyed, they just are, infinitely. The universe and everything that was ever and will ever begin and end, Is, infinitely.

When we get in touch with the present, we can be with the Is, all of the possible futures and pasts unfold before us, time and space are one and at once both static and dynamic. There are an infinite amount of ways to experience the Is, these are a few of our explorations of the Infinite Is.
