J. David Smith and Chad Walls met while working as gallery attendants at the 
Dallas museum of Art, finding common ground in music, politics and art, they 
struck a partnership based on a similar vision of a musical and artistic collective
where multiple artists could work together to achieve the singular visions of individuals within the group.

Wind-up Entertainment, one of the largest independently-owned music companies, was founded in 1997. The company was responsible for establishing and breaking many multi-platinum and diamond artists over the years. Wind-up Records continues to develop and build a great young roster of alternative artists, such as Civil Twilight, The Virginmarys, Young Guns, The Griswolds, Strange Talk and The Revivalists. The mission of the Frost Bands is to provide an environment that promotes performances of wind and percussion music of the highest quality. The goal of these performances is to foster the highest level of music-making, music learning and musical experience for performers and audiences alike, creating an environment in which teachers, performers, and patrons share in the promotion and furtherance of wind band music.
