The music, sounds, and vibrations encapsulated in this 160 minute DJ mix performed by .THE JASS. at ENTER. on July 4th 2013 in Space Club are not usually heard on the summer island paradise of Ibiza.  .THE JASS. played a total of 5 hours in the cave-like MIND room:  thick smoke, throbbing strobe lights, and metallic mesh stalactites created the dark dwelling for deep musical experiments in lower BPM ranges, heavy atmospheres, and hypnotic grooves - those who ventured within the MIND room were pulled into a black hole in the middle of ENTER.Experience.

.THE JASS. DJ Set at ENTER. July 4th 2013 in Space Club Ibiza

For those of you who don't know me, my name is .thejass. (pronounced 'dot the jass dot') and I&nbsp;helped out with the minimal house, electro, and techno parties called <a href="http://www.wearerobots.net">ROBOTS</a> in New York City that lasted an incredible 3+ years, and promoted 140 events through end of 2007. My two mixes "comparing complementary contrasts" "death directing darkness" were created through my guest appearances at 'ROBOTRADIO' a weekly (thursday's 6pm-8pm EST) internet radio show at <a href="http://eastvillageradio.com">eastvillageradio.com</a>. If the mixes must be stylized, they are a blend of moody electronica, lush ambient atmospheres, instrumental downtempo, haunting melodies, experimental soundwork recordings, dark drones, cinematic scores, and every other adjective that can be articulated to reflect the slow to mid paced sounds that are built up, taken down, then dragged around for 80 minutes each, and together total 76 tracks.

Murdered Out Techno is about as far away from electronic dance music as you can get before it stops being dance music. Murdered Out Techno Vol. 1 was like hearing techno music in a dark alley outside of a dance club; “Murdered Out Techno Vol.2” brings the heavy layers of doom metal, drone, and dark ambient samples into the DJ booth – the matte blacked out repetitive four to the floor kick drum has increased in pitch and menacing monochromatic tones are sustained long enough to induct any shaman into a meditative blackout. – .thejass. sounds of experimental electronic music to droning metal, "endlessly elapsing evil" is my third mix on the www.wearerobots.net site. titled to describe its dark theme, the 50 tracks spanning 80 minutes are suggestive of the murky time we live in. grim sounds so wonderful at this moment; it encourages listeners to surrender to the inevitable. the light at the end of the tunnel is actually a train, and when one accepts death, the funeral sounds of deep matte black music that may have once been evil, are now good.

denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance are themes of the fourth .thejass. mix: “fear forges feedback”, an 80 minute set of 57 tracks forged to cure the fear of loss with heavy doses of sonic feedback, and prescribed to listeners deprived by death. The diagnosed audio side effects are fragmentary breaths of electric guitars, pupils enlarge from blackened soundscapes, the jaw is opened through distressed vocals, limbs become rigid in uncirculated noise, fingers curl into a doom metal claw, and finally, a static stare towards mysterious cinematic tones conclude the aftermath of loss.

my philosophical artistic pseudonym ".thejass." is a change in the notion of identity. "the" specifies the definiteness of my name "jass", which are concatenated, and delimited by dots "." that symbolize not only a beginning and an eventual end of my physical life, but also an aesthetic of virtual immortality. .thejass. is a reference to the domain name system that defines where i exist in the realm of the internet and is an online grave stone marker in the vastness of the global network.

.thejass. (pronounced ‘dot THE JASS dot’) born in the USA and raised in the ski resort town of Park City, Utah [home to The Sundance Film Festival] currently lives in Williamsburg Brooklyn NYC is a DJ, Visual Artist, Video Director whose underworld creations take a firm place in the dark subconscious. 

 DJing experimental electronic music that is built up with cinematic soundscapes, taken down with deep ambient, then dragged around with drone metal, a .thejass. DJ mix creates a haunting experience for the mind. With DJ sets around NYC gaining attention, .thejass. DJ mixes have been showcased nationally on Proton Radio, East Village Radio, and Newtown Radio culminating in .thejass. first international gig in July 2013 to play Richie Hawtin’s ENTER. opening party at Space Club in Ibizia Spain. In the near future .thejass. will be releasing audio works of art combining the two worlds of techno music and drone metal into a style .thejass. calls “Murdered Out Techno”.
