Jessica Amber Rafuse, known artistically as indiazi, is a multidisciplinary producer, writer, and vocalist based in Calgary, Alberta. Her name—a hybrid of indie love and a Kenyan word meaning sweet, cool, and cures famine—captures the range of her work: emotionally raw, rhythmically sharp, and spiritually nourishing.
indiazi's sonic journey began 26 years ago during a reading of Crime and Punishment, but truly bloomed in Toronto’s underground during her years studying journalism at Ryerson University.
