Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Running Through My Head (Instrumental)

Musically inspired by the music of Black Sabbath and Ennio Morricone. There was an intention to combine the weight and attack of Black Sabbaths amped guitar riffs with the atmospherics and drama achieved through the use of chanting vocals and acoustic instruments in Ennio Morricone's Spaghetti Western soundtracks.

The band was formed in 2007 by a guitarist and a bass player who wanted to play "proper" rock, and so The Julia Set was born. That lasted all of five minutes, as the guitarist promptly landed a decent job and vanished into the setting sun.

The bassman, however, carried on with the concept and pulled together the indie rock band that we've got today, based in and around the West London area. Gigs have included such prestigious venues as The 12 Bar Club, The Alleycat, Fiddlers Elbow and The Water Rats, amongst others.

We gathered a few original songs together and released the "Skyline" EP (now free on BandCamp). Recent releases have been singles such as "Wild Wood" and "Love & Hate (A Story Of)", "Is This Your First Time?" and "Finding Out" and more.

We would just describe ourselves, if anything, as an Indie Rock band seasoned with a hint of retro. We love the big, overlaid guitar sound.

The line-up is Mickey Berry on lead vocals, Mendel and Simon Goode on guitars, Tom Smith on drums and Mike Atkinson on bass.
