Mediocre Martyr

Tyler Derrik, Skyler Greene, Jared Greenway, and Bob Pollard are the integral elements that form The Knowing Hand; a progressive rock band from Mountain Home, Arkansas that started in a garage. Through haunting lyrics and hypnotic guitar tone that pushes one into a dark but oddly comforting place one can hear the influences of Rush, Tool, and Pink Floyd. Greenway admits that The Knowing Hand steps into a conceptualized wonderland that keeps one guessing whether it’s surreal fantasy or a waking nightmare. The Knowing Hand centralizes their music on themes and not a pop music format, creating movements like waves in a ocean forming ripples upon the sand below. Just make sure you don’t fall off course and sink into dreams that will drown you when you listen to Charybdis.
 
The newest and only Knowing Hand album is a great coming of age album about self-doubt, teen angst, and learning how to fit into your own skin with as minimal causalities as possible. Rise above the despair that life brings along with it and grasp hope with a death grip that the double bass drum played by Tyler Derrick encourages. Bob Pollard creates a rich environment with his delicious bass notes for Jared Greenway, the guitarist/keyboardist/singer, to dazzle the crowd. Greenway gives an ecstatic performance by jumping onto chairs, folding to the floor, and encouraging crowd participations. Greenway is more than a singer. He is an entertainer pure and simple. The Knowing Hand gives a breath taking live show with plenty of energy, sparks, and smiles.
