Bitterness

 Body is about possession. A lot of the themes and ideas come from David Mitchell’s literature, mainly from books like “Ghostwritten” and “Slade House”. A lot of the characters in these books in particular don’t actually exist physically, they just move between the bodies of other humans, taking residence in them until they die and then they move on. The actual process of regenerating / transmigrating into a different body is a painful, difficult process, which is brought to life in the instrumental break at the end. Some of the other ideas came from a show called Darker than Black (I watch an insane amount of anime so influences from that kind of end up everywhere). One of the main characters is a talking cat, who we later find out is actually a human who has the ability to possess the bodies of other animals, but he lost his original human body somewhere along the line. The idea of living outside of yourself is tackled in everything from The Matrix to Game of Thrones to everything in between and I thought it would be interesting to write about.

i was listening to bill wurtz's song, and the day goes on, and I wanted to make an 8-bit cover of it. i'm really proud of this.

i wrote this song back in spring 2018. i was feeling homesick and lost. during this difficult time both of my older brothers were so supportive and helpful. our bond has always been insanely strong and sincere. we have always been there for each other. 
this is a song about us.

Raised in London and living in Brighton, Leo Aram-Downs is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His music comes from a unique blend of influences ranging from fingerstyle acoustic guitar to jazz to tech metal, and everything in between.
