본적이 서울이다. 서울에서 나고 자랐다. 서울 언저리에 살아도 주 출몰지는 서울이었다.
내 모든 삶의 지층이 서울에서 축적됐다.
서울의 바람, 온도, 냄새, 조명들이 날 키웠다. 그러니 내가 만든 모든 것들은 결국 '서울스러울' 수 밖에 없다.

전엔 그걸 내 한계로 생각했다.
이젠 이게 내 뿌리임을 안다.

한계라 생각할 땐 지겹고 시시하더니,
뿌리로 바라보니 매일이 발견이다. 

이 도시의 요철이 얼마나 재밌고 또 근사한지 알아가는 순간들을 트랙에 담았다.

서울과 나의 관계,
서울 위를 밟고 뛰는 우리들의 지금을
욕심과 힘을 빼고, 있는 그대로 표현했다.

당신의 매일에 대한 응원과 축하, 격려로 채운 앨범 Positive는 마테를링크의 동화 ‘파랑새’에서 모티프를 따왔다.
 
가볍고 경쾌한, 파랑새의 지저귐을 닮은 곡들은 
우울과 혼란의 숲을 헤매는 이들을 밖으로 안내하는 역할을 한다.
 
차분한 [Greetings!]은 어두운 숲에 헤매는 당신이 긴장하지 않도록 인사를 건네고,
[Life Is Good]은 차분히 숨 고르는 법을 알려준다.
앨범의 제목이기도한 [Positive]은 혼란을 잠재우고, 밝은 빛으로 이끈다. 
곡 전체에 흐르는 비트는 딱 기분 좋을만큼 가볍게 걷는 속도에 맞춘 것이다.
이 속도대로 걸을 때, 우울이나 혼란은 한참 뒤처져 당신을 영엉 따라잡지 못하게 된다.
[Bling Bling]은 숲을 빠져나온 당신에게 쏟아지는 박수갈채와 폭죽, 축하를 담았다. 
당신이 슬픔과 우울, 혼란의 숲에 언제고 다시 오게 된다한들 괜찮다.
 
이 파랑새들은 항상 당신의 속도에 맞춰 주변을 맴돌고, 격려할테니.

09. It Came Upon the Midnight Clear (Lofi Carol Jazz Version)

More of the "Bioncile: Civil War of Frada Nui" project.

This track is underscore for establishing shots of an underwater, militaristic civilisation in the Bionicle universe. I seem to have nicked Brad Fiedl's sparse, syncopated Terminator bass as a motif for this score, but I don't think it's copyright. Here it is again!

I had a little fun getting into a major key for a change and fiddling about with synth voices to get the right underwater feel for this one. There's also a little bit of Vangelis/Blade Runner about the opening parts of this track. Not what I was aiming for, but not sorry it turned out that way.

As with the other tracks, this was composed directly into MuseScore 3, dot by dot, mixing onboard with a combination of mixer settings and dynamic markings, and exported straight to mp3.
