LEON of ATHENS releases his new single ‘Global’ on 8th June 2015 via Believe Digital/ iTunes the first release from his debut international album also titled Global.

Produced by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle and Sebastian) ‘Global’ was recorded in upstate New York at Grammy award winner Dave Fridmann’s Tarbox Road Studios (The Flaming Lips and MGMT). ‘Global’ showcases a sound that is essentially modern mixing elements of electronica, traditional acoustic tones, folk, pop and subtle atl-rock to evoke a brave new world hewn from bold musical colours.  With LEON of ATHENS’ first international album set to follow later this year, ‘Global’ is a striking UK debut.  A star in his native country LEON has featured frequently on MTV Greece as well as in The New York Times, NME, The Guardian and Q Magazine.  LEON’s smouldering classical looks, his shockingly good voice and forthright attitude of having something to say with his music proves an irresistible mixture.  ‘Global’ is unashamedly euphoric, with a bold social awareness running throughout as befits LEON’s rise to pop star status, a symbolic echo of the rebirth of the Greece itself.   

LEON of ATHENS’ music is for fans of Coldplay, Kodaline, Hozier, MGMT and Imagine Dragons.  ‘Global’ documents the life of a character who has been travelling forever, literally and metaphorically.  He's lived through thousands of years, searching for a resting place amongst the mayhem. He stands, his tears turned to ice, waiting for humanity to change: 'keep me warm, keep me warm, while the cold outside turns my tears into ice, I can’t close my eyes.’  

Leon Veremis spent his formative years living in Athens counter cultural quarter Exarchia.  LEON of ATHENS’ early releases in Greece were inspired by a country in crisis, making headlines there and in the US, where within months he was playing to audiences of thousands.  

LEON of ATHENS’ debut international album, also titled Global, heralds an even more optimistic message, embracing themes of love, fantastical dreams and equality, held together by a robust social commentary technique.  His second single, ‘Baby Asteroid’ reaches towards a magical unobtainable place with it’s infectious and instantly recognisable hook placing LEON of ATHENS firmly in line to be crowned ‘this year’s Hozier.’

ESTRONS the politically charged Welsh alternative foursome kick 2016 into gear by announcing their first set of UK wide dates for February and celebrate being chosen Radio 1’s Annie Mac as one of her #NewNames for 2016.  ESTRONS also celebrate the double accolade of being selected by Radio X as one of their Great-X-Pectations for 2016 (one of the twenty new bands as yet to release their debut LP chosen for support by the station) and hitting Amazing Radio’s playlist with the Brand New 2016 Remaster of ‘Make A Man’.   

ESTRONS ‘Make A Man’ was first released on 11 December 2015 and has clocked up worldwide plays and support from Beats 1, Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio X, Selector Radio.   To mark ESTRONS first UK wide tour the song has been remastered by John Davis (Coldplay, Blur, Flo + The Machine, Years & Years) and is being re-serviced to radio with the new impact of 19th February 2016. 

Meaning ‘Aliens’ in Welsh, the four-piece met in a chance encounter on the beaches of Aberystwyth and soon formed a band with the premise of being general misfits and outcasts that never quite belonged to any one country or nationality.  Fronted by Canadian-Swede Taliesyn Kallström, with Rhodri Daniel (guitar), James Keeley (bass) and Hugh Parry (drums), ESTRONS bring together punchy melodies, powerful vocals and loud guitars to create an in-your-face indie rock sound, underpinned by garage rock sensibilities. ‘Make A Man’ is a story of a heterosexual female’s battle between desiring a man, whilst simultaneously finding herself having little respect for his self important ego and misogynistic attitude towards women.  She retaliates by objectifying him to herself.
