Bristol Alternative trio IDESTROY release their new single ‘We Are Girls’ on 5th Feb 2021 with distribution via CD Baby. The single precedes their debut album of the same name We Are Girls released one week later on 12.2.21.

Hailing from the heart of Bristol, IDESTROY takes sexual politics and the empowerment of the Me Too generation as their core values and mix equal parts NYC proto punk, 90’s Riot Grrrl, the sloganeering of The Clash, Manics, and The Sex Pistols with a blast of fresh contemporary energy. IDESTROY have built a reputation for their energetic live shows, performing over 300 shows across the UK, Europe and Asia including a sold out showcase at Zandari Festa, South Korea and rave reviews from the likes of The Sunday Times, Kerrang! Magazine and Louder Than War.

Of their new single, ‘We Are Girls’, singer Bec says,“‘We Are Girls’ distils all the preconceptions and patronising attitudes we’ve endured as a female band. Being told to smile, being called cranky, people’s surprise when they discover how good we are. We can be carrying our gear and still be mistaken for mates of the band. We’ve even been asked if we know how to use our own gear and equipment! It’s amazing that this stuff still goes on, but it does and it makes me mad.”

IDESTROY’s highly anticipated debut album We Are Girls is a record drenched in attitude. This album addresses volatile issues faced by girls and women every single day. An agitated concoction of story-telling, fun, catchy choruses and sarcastic word-play, this record is not only a musical landmark celebrating IDestroy’s journey so far - it’s a significant moral message to society. The album includes their recent single, ‘Petting Zoo’ and forthcoming third single, ‘G.O.D’. Lead singer Bec Jevons also plays guitar in Bristol indie alternative legends THE BLUE AEROPLANES and has performed live sessions on BBC 6 Music and Radio X etc.

LEON of ATHENS releases his new single ‘Global’ on 8th June 2015 via Believe Digital/ iTunes the first release from his debut international album also titled Global.

Produced by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle and Sebastian) ‘Global’ was recorded in upstate New York at Grammy award winner Dave Fridmann’s Tarbox Road Studios (The Flaming Lips and MGMT). ‘Global’ showcases a sound that is essentially modern mixing elements of electronica, traditional acoustic tones, folk, pop and subtle atl-rock to evoke a brave new world hewn from bold musical colours.  With LEON of ATHENS’ first international album set to follow later this year, ‘Global’ is a striking UK debut.  A star in his native country LEON has featured frequently on MTV Greece as well as in The New York Times, NME, The Guardian and Q Magazine.  LEON’s smouldering classical looks, his shockingly good voice and forthright attitude of having something to say with his music proves an irresistible mixture.  ‘Global’ is unashamedly euphoric, with a bold social awareness running throughout as befits LEON’s rise to pop star status, a symbolic echo of the rebirth of the Greece itself.   

LEON of ATHENS’ music is for fans of Coldplay, Kodaline, Hozier, MGMT and Imagine Dragons.  ‘Global’ documents the life of a character who has been travelling forever, literally and metaphorically.  He's lived through thousands of years, searching for a resting place amongst the mayhem. He stands, his tears turned to ice, waiting for humanity to change: 'keep me warm, keep me warm, while the cold outside turns my tears into ice, I can’t close my eyes.’  

Leon Veremis spent his formative years living in Athens counter cultural quarter Exarchia.  LEON of ATHENS’ early releases in Greece were inspired by a country in crisis, making headlines there and in the US, where within months he was playing to audiences of thousands.  

LEON of ATHENS’ debut international album, also titled Global, heralds an even more optimistic message, embracing themes of love, fantastical dreams and equality, held together by a robust social commentary technique.  His second single, ‘Baby Asteroid’ reaches towards a magical unobtainable place with it’s infectious and instantly recognisable hook placing LEON of ATHENS firmly in line to be crowned ‘this year’s Hozier.’
