@Koreatownacid is Korean-born DJ/Producer/Live PA performer from Toronto, she is a classically trained pianist adept at free-form beats that has evolved to create rocking dance rhythms and quirky bangers, creating deconstructed minimalism, free jazz and more avant-garde music mix of techno. She blends experimental hypnotic moods with abstract rhythms and textures to give a fresh perspective. Her DJ sets are eclectic, drawing from house, techno and experimental IDM, and her down-to-earth energy has taken her around the world, from RBMA Bass Camp to Boiler Room, @mutek_montreal and various clubs in Europe and her hometown of Seoul. Over the past 13 years, she has showcased in Seoul, New York, Athens, Berlin, London, Helsinki and Canada and shared the stage with world-class artists such as Floating Points, Objeckt, Overmono, Laurel Halo, Helena Hauff, Leon Vynehall, Pelada, Machinedrum, MoMa Ready, Kyle Halll, Move D, and Yeaji. Along with Roland Canada and Intersessions, KTA is also an educator and mentor when it comes to DJing and live hardware production. She presents an ongoing monthly radio show on Brooklyn, New York's The Lot Radio, exploring genres ranging from Seoul's underground sound to Toronto-area banger. Her offbeat four albums have recently appeared on BBC 1 Radio, Benji B Show , appeared on Apple Music's Frank Ocean radio show "Homer Radio".
