Happy new year and welcome to 2024! Bright Patterns welcomes Garçon from Switzerland for this new chapter of the show. He’s a resident at Elysia in Basel and co-runs Amenthia Recordings with Agonis. More often than not, we have the pleasure of hearing his deep cerebral explorations of rhythm, building sets and mixes with thoughtful intention for the dance floor. While I and many others enjoy these recordings again and again, he presents a softer side here that’s equally as brilliant. “I wanted to play music i'd like to listen to in the morning or stay in bed to” he added. @syberkid creates a journey through the flames, leaving us with the burning embers of an eclectic mix of drone and ambient harmony. This was recorded live at the ‘Burning of The Clavie’ at MKII in London, on January 11th 2025.

This artwork is a collaboration between Sybil, Adam, and Mark, creating cymatics of sonic experimentation, and with each installment of the series, we will explore turning a fraction of sound into light. 🎨

"A gentle forest clearing at golden hour. The filtered sun moves lazily through leaves that rustle with quiet purpose. Somewhere nearby, water trickles over mossy stones, and a bird calls once, then is silent. I sit cross-legged on the soft earth, breathing in the stillness. The music doesn’t impose - it simply exists, like dew or wind, cradling the moment without asking for attention."

Baldman (@baldmankid) is a DJ from Pozoblanco (Córdoba) based in Madrid, known for performing across clubs throughout Spain. His style is twofold: on one side, a dynamic club persona—spontaneous and versatile—ranging from early warm-ups to peak-hour sets, blending classic house, techno, UK influences, and experimental sounds across any BPM. On the other, a more introspective approach focused on mood and context, exploring ambient, ethereal, and experimental music. This duality showcases the depth and versatility of his artistic expression.

Widely respected for its impeccable curation and timeless releases, Astral Industries has carved out a unique space in the world of ambient and experimental electronic music, with each release offering a meticulously crafted sonic journey.

In this recording, Ario brings that same curatorial sensibility to the decks, guiding us on a deep and expansive journey. It begins with a psychedelic abduction to another world, and as the mix gradually unfolds you emerge into an expansive world of progressive and vintage tech house before dissolving into deep, swirling tribal techno. True to Ario's refined aesthetic, it is a set that balances both introspection and propulsion. 

Recorded in Hong Kong, at a secret location, this mix is a teaser for the upcoming Rebloom event on Saturday 17th May—where Ario will return to the Rebloom booth for our birthday celebrations, with a special closing set.

Born and raised on the island of Mauritius and now based in Barcelona, DjSport is known for her captivating approach to sound. She carefully plays with tension, release, and the uncanny.

Speaking on the mix, she reflects: “The weird tendency to listen to the sound of crickets filling my brain with distorted melodies.” A glimpse into the world she invites us to step into.

Recorded Live at New Grass 2025

After a small hiatus we're delighted to welcome Planatia to the helm of our latest Bloom Loops. Pietro (Planatia) is a Berlin-based selector and sound artist from Rome. Part of the founding members of Radiocircolo collective, he's also a resident on Cashmere Radio and Radio Alhara and part of the electroacoustic duo Nuvola.

Through his sonic navigations he travels the in-between spaces of electronic and organic worlds, weaving liquid soundscapes for inter-dimensional listening.

This special recording is part of the final closing set of the ambient stage at New Grass - an event in Brandenburg showcasing multi-genre electronic music. The first edition took place 21-24th February 2025.

Euan Alexander Millar-McMeeken is a Scottish composer originally from Dundee and now living on the south coast of England. Euan began composing in the late 2000s, but it was in 2010 after the dissolution of his band, that his solo work as Glacis took shape. Left with just his piano, this became an outlet for creativity during a period of solitude. Over the years, his music has been released by labels such as Fluid Audio, Oscarson and Lost Tribe Sound, and he’s also built a reputation as a prolific collaborator with projects including Gallowglas, Civic Hall (alongside Craig Tattersall) and The Dead Bell (with The Green Kingdom), as well as work with artists including Satomimagae, Gavin Miller and Adrian Lane. Euan has become a familiar figure with Whitelabrecs over the years.

Polaroid Notes is the work of a German artist called Andreas, who is based in the countryside between Munich and the Alps. Initially known for his Ambient dub electronic work as Kraut Sounds, Andreas began Polaroid Notes over a decade ago as a contemporary classical side project. In recent years, this has become his primary project and perhaps the pseudonym that he’s best known as. His music has appeared on labels including Driftworks, Büro für Erdrotation, Weber & Alcantu, Licht-ung and his own Drone Works International imprint. He has released five solo albums with Whitelabrecs, as well as releases on Whitelabrecs’ predecessors Tessellate Recordings and Audio Gourmet.

Both of these artists are regulars on Whitelabrecs and to our fans and followers, these artists will need no introduction. Euan and Andreas first connected around the release of Cloud Anthems, though they’d admired each other’s work for much longer. Since then, their friendship has grown through conversations about music, life and family. In autumn 2022, they began exchanging ideas and sound fragments, a process that unfolded naturally over the next two years. Both artists’ work is rooted in the piano, but this album reaches beyond, blending modern classical composition with experimental textures, shifting from light-filled passages to shadowy tones; from deep melancholy to moments of sublime beauty.

This album which is called ‘Time Is Coming To An End’ was created without a strict concept. It was born out of a simple shared sense of curiosity and the joy of surprising each other through sound. Work began in the winter of 2022, with long pauses and returns when the time felt right. The result is an evocative, layered collection of pieces, greater than the sum of its parts.

Earlier this year, the pair offered a glimpse of their collaboration with the 5-track EP Reflections, self-released for Piano Day. Now, ‘Time Is Coming To An End’ reveals the full scope of their Scottish-Bavarian partnership in all its depth and detail, tied together with the evocative title and its striking artwork concept of Meike Pfitzner.
